Name: Svetlana Konovalov
Gender: Female
Appearance:  5'6" 120 pounds, age 25, thin and attractive, straight blonde hair with blue eyes.
Str: 0
Dex: 0
Con: 0
Int: 2
Cha: 2
Wil: 2
HP: 5

Archetype: Pilot/Technician

Background: The daughter of a rich merchant, Nikki was born on a merchant ship between stars. Compliments of daddy, she received a great deal of cosmetic and cybernetic surgery, the best money could buy. Spending her teenage years on her father's various merchant craft, by her early twenties she was an accomplished pilot, trader, mechanic and software engineer.

Also, she likes kittens.

Cybernetics:

Cranial Computer Interface: Nikki has a brain implant that allows her to remotely communicate with suitably rigged computers and shipboard systems. This interface allows instant communication with interfaced systems as well as the ability to remotely pilot craft and interface with shipboard systems.

Cyber eyes and ears: Nikki's eyes and interior ears have been replaced with cybernetic equivalents. Her eyes feature connfigurable EM sensitivty from radio up to the X-ray range and her ears can detect well beyond human norms. Additionally, these implants feature both single frame and full motion video and sound capture abilities and are connected to her cranial computer interface, allowing her to both send and receive to/from systems she has connected to.

Cosmetics:
Nikki has had extensive high-quality cosmetic surgery which makes her both lovely and shapely.

Do I have to have a disguise? :3
Yes.

Just think of it as a sort of metaphysical hologram you have around yourself. You can't have everyone knowing you're actually kittens. Naturally everyone will ignore your obviously suspicious habits, like eating kibble (which you smuggled onboard the ship). Its a psychic ability that exerts itself instinctively on whatever looks at or hears you. You can toggle it of course. For my sanity's sake the kittens have to stay in the same room or general area, but they can split up without people thinking your false image's arm fell off and crawled away or anything.

You can't have everyone knowing you're actually kittens.

Out of curiosity, why is that a problem?

The kittens should have a cybernetic upgrade that lets them combine into a human sized robot thing :P

Because the "Ship's Cat" isn't sentient and doesn't carry weapons and wear body armor.

Perhaps I have misunderstood the nature of this game.

The primary directive of the Space Scouts at this time is to explore the Outer Galaxy.
Chart any planets you can find and move on as quickly as possible.

Procedures for this are entirely up to your discretion.

...if we're on an interstellar craft charting planets...exactly how much time are we likely to spend engaging in personal combat? We're obviously not going to be charting entire planets by walking around on the surface taking notes. Personally I wasn't planning on leaving the ship much.

Johnathon is an engineer. Isabel is a doctor, Svetlana is a pilot, Kit are kittens, John is a brain in a jar...I think I'm not alone in my interpretation that this was not going to be x-com.

I intend for my character to... experience the locals.

Jonathan isn't just an engineer, he's an engineer that murdered someone.

Not a lot. Charting planets just involves being within visible distance of it, however if there's something interesting there, such as life, anomalies, or resources you're semi-obligated to head down there and scope it out.

Its not XCOM but you will fight things from time to time. Mostly it depends on what you guys decide is most important.

One weird character doesn't change the whole nature of the game, guy. Its almost like you've never Bay12. If someone comes up with a nonstandard or unexpected character then its best that it just gets mixed in with all the normal rather than trying to rationalize it in-universe. People always try gamebreaking and even if it is kind of irritating when its not hilarious I'm not going to stop anyone from making something different.

Only if you're disguised, which can be anywhere from full on morph abilities to a paper mask.
