Reg: Get out of that helmet, maybe it will confuse your enemy for a few seconds.
Holt: Throw your sword at your enemy, at best it might hurt it. Otherwise maybe it will distract it enough to buy some time.

Or it will hit Reg.
Actually no. Don't do that.

Get rescued by a tribe of Kobolds. Please, pretty please?

Pretty pretty pretty please?

That would be hilarious. +1

I'd very much like to see that. +1
+1 Also requesting to use those kobolds as meat shields if necessary.
And also: Holt: Throw your helmet/socks/gauntlets at the horrible monster, buying Reg enough time to flee.

And triple also: of course, the black guy dies first  :'(
+1 Kobolds
+2 to Sudden Kobold Rescue.

I wonder how I just missed this, this comic, this game, this comic-game, this thread, this THING.

I really wonder.

The best way to demonstrate it to him is take a save of 40 year old fortress with 150 dwarves in it on a good sized embark with a volcano that just breached the circus and install it on his gaming rig and watch it bring his rig to its knees.

To be fair, if the creature is strong enough to poke a hole in it (which would mean it's fingers alone could take enough force to push through ~3mm steel) You probably aren't strong enough to just take it off while the creature is grabbing it.

The helmet already had holes in it to begin with.  The creature's claw is poking in through one of them.  It didn't rip a new hole through the material.

Mind you, now that it's through, it's definitely expanding the hole, judging by the "rend" sound effect and the jagged edges of the metal peels around it.  If we ditch the helmet, though, we're going to have to worry about something strong enough to cut steel still having a pretty solid grip on us and no longer having to worry about cutting through the helmet, so it's a bit of a horse apiece.

Guys, if there's one thing Ive learned about killing semimegas as a peasant adventurer its to initiate wrestling.

Reg, initiate wrestling by grabbing the wrist and locking it.  Break if able, but call to Holt to grab your sword.

DF creatures love to waste time wrestling.

I just imagine wrestling battles like a dwarf grabbing a part, and then the creature slaps it away.(x99)

"No, stop that."
