* shrug * I haven't got any ideas. That does need to happen sometime before the story ends though.

Talk to the engineer. Ask herhim if she knows how to build a cheese workshop. If so then declare her him you new Best friendbff.
yes befriend The Cheesebeard.
Editing people's quotes isn't going to make him any less of a dwarf-man.
true though the creator didn't state Cog's gender... soo eh.. better stop. Here have a CheeseBeard doodle.

Misty would be carried the same way as dwarven babies are carried by their mothers, also the same way invaders ride their mounts.

Misty and the migrant party still have a long ways to go. Maybe she can start off talking to PHM and then work her way up the line? It never hurts to get a good idea who you are traveling with and maybe gain some friends. Maybe we can learn a little more about ShieldDawn from them too!

+1, the only way to start an awesome story about a small hero is if they ride a friend.

I concur with Rumrusher, the engineer is totes bishie. He'd make a pretty she.

The graceful pose, the feminine figure, the slight smile, the innocent expression of naive hope. Look at him, he'd be the prettiest girl at the ball.

Ignoring the fact that EvictedSaint has only drawn beards on males thus far, the only unambiguously male migrant by your criteria is the smith.

Nonsense, the farmer with the hat is obviously also a dude, he's clearly wearing pants, not a dress toga. :P I was joking the whole time.

If PHM was shy, it'd make a more effective Clark Kent for his transformation to SUPER Plump Helmet Man! ( Triggered by eating a Super Mario Brothers' Super Mushroom. For extra fun, references, and unfortunate implications.)

And ignoring the fact that togas were worn by both sexes in Ancient Greece and Rome.

In my fort, I would relegate the two farmers to being haulers since three or four is all I need to keep a forts farms and brewing going.

Forgive me if I'm wrong and also for being slightly off-topic. Weren't togas originally strictly ceremonial clothes? And weren't they usually worn with/on top of gender non-ambiguous clothes?

You could just look it up ;)

The toga was for a long time an exclusively-male garment reserved for roman citizens. During some times, it was also worn by women, and later on, citizenship became so common it was no longer a distinction. The pallium/palla might be a better fit for generic roman-time overclothes, but the toga's more widely known.

And of course, we don't know what the dwarven rules of toga wearing are. The engineer might be emulating the look of greek intellectuals by wearing a himation without visible underclothes. And why not? Dwarfs don't need multiple layers of clothing on the upper body to be happy.

Haha, I always could, but never do! Besides, I always remember it better in context of a conversation than reading Wiki articles, so I prefer to be "taught" by a knowledgeable human when it comes up in a natural conversation.
