I prefer to play over emulators anyway. I figured I bought enough copies of these games as a kid that I'm good, hah.

Playing through Ruby right now because of this.

If anyone else is playing on an emulator and wants to do some trades or something, let me know!

You can do that? Can't you open a second emulator and trade to yourself?

I have to say that I haven't wanted to play Pokemon this badly since elementary school.
I haven't wanted to play it this bad even back then.

*that moment where I remember that Vector is the same age as me and I am therefore still aging D:*
I wanted to play it so badly I went out and bought a 3DS and Pokemon Y today, as I said I would.
We had a 3ds games thread a little bit ago if you want more good games afterwards. ;D

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

TPP made me go get a helix fossil and a dome fossil in Y.

Nice thing about the X and Y is that, with the exception of the Gen 5 Fossils (I think) and version exclusives, you can obtain infinite fossils.

Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

Yeah man!

I have the Helix God incarnate, his forefathers, the Amber King, and the Dome Lord in Fossil form.

It's sweet.

Also, you can get infinite Gen 5 fossils, it's the Gen 6 ones you have to worry about.

Whoops, mixed up the gen numbers.

Also, I supposed I should mention that I revived the Helix and Dome, and am now trying to breed a disciple of the Helix with the right nature and ability. (Screw IVs, headache and a crap-ton of work for so little difference.)

Ugh. I was going to stay up until 4 AM since it's easier than waking up early, but then I won't be able to watch it all day. So I guess I'm waking up super-early.

Of course, I'm not sure how I'll do that without waking up everyone else. Probably an alarm and headphones.

I wish it was starting a bit later.

This, so hard. I just haven't been able to play Emerald on a cartridge ever since I found out I could play it at 5x speed on an emulator.

Gen 3 was the worst, anyways. Way too much water.

I wound up disliking Gen IV the most because the color palette for the scenery in that gen got kinda drab, and I never found out about the repel trick in the mountain so I hated that place.

Gen 3 was the first generation where I really got into Pokemon, so I have an inherent nostalgia bias towards for it. In other words, I really like it. Looking back at it, the tropical theme is still something rather unique, with every other game being temperate. Also, since I started with gen 3, and rather enjoyed it, I was actually disappointed by how small the ocean in gen 4 was, and every other game hence forth.

Also, the walking speed has never really bothered me with any of the Pokemon games.

So I guess I'm the odd one out. I'll just sit in this corner over here. Pretend I don't exist.

Ninja: Gen IV always sort of bothered me. It always had a sort of....tin feel to it? I can't really describe it. Sort of... fake, dead almost. It has never felt right.

Ah, you have the nostalgia factor. Well, that changes everything. For the same reason, I tend to like gen 2's extensive cave system, where most others didn't. I got into the game during gen 1, but gen 2 was just infinitely better.

Also, Coliseum on the GC (Part of gen3, sort of) was primarily desert/wasteland. And you could catch other trainers' pokemon.
