Gyms and the like are more compressed in the second generation. We still have all of the Kanto region left as well as Mt. Silver.

Ahhh!  I never played anything outside Gen. 1, so I sort of assumed that once you got the master ball, you must be pretty much done.

Also I don't even see us beating the elite 4 for 2 or more days at least. Lazor is the only one ready for them, and even then he'll need better backup to make it to the Champion.

EDIT: I think I might be generous with the 2 days even. Breakfast Buritto has no good moves, shuckle is pretty useless, Brian is awesome but he's still just a Pidgeot, HootHoot will be useless for a while and we might even switch him, and Katie has a long way to go.

It will probably take few days to beat elite four and then theres all the Kanto gyms.

It's located in Silph Co., which requires you to have beaten the Pokemon Tower, which (without glitches) requires you to clear the Rocket Hideout in Celadon. I think you're right - you'd need Cut to reach it, but nothing else, so 2 badges is the minimum. More likely, you'd have between 3 and 5 badges when you acquired it, but 2 should be possible.
