I think democracy is great for dealing with boring terrible things.

I think it's terrible for dealing with anything that has an element of real risk though... but that is honestly just the PC and battles and inventory.

Would be nice if all of those immediately booted the game out of democracy honestly. ^_^

I admit I wasn't a fan of Brian in the beginning. Not because of the "He's not Bird Jesus!" stuff, I just wanted different pokemon this time around. His lore has really grown on me though and has basically become the embodiment of Gen 2 trying to forge it's own path. He's just a bird. A bird named BBBBBrian, and now he can fucking fly! Spread your wings Brian and take flight!

"Now," says Pontius PC, shouting at the noisy crowd from the balcony, "Who wiww we wewease?"

"Release Lazorgator!" shouts the crowd

"Prince Omlette!" cries another voice.

"Okay," says PC, "We wiww wewease... PWINCE OMWETTE!!"

Somd people in the crowd snicker at the Pontius PC's ridiculous voice, and group of guards are dispatched to release the poor Togepi. PC turns back to the crowd. "Who ewse wiww we wewease?"

A lone woman pushes her way through the crowd, frantically shoving aside anyone in her path. She cups her hands around her mouth and shouts "RELEASE BRIAN!!"

There is a man standing next to her, the same one who called for the release of Prince Omlette. "Oy, that's a good one," he says. "RELEASE BRIAN!"

The crowd begins to chant with them. "RELEASE BRIAN RELEASE BRIAN!"

Pontius PC holds up a hand. "Awwight, we wiww wewease... BWIANNNNNN!!!"

The woman breathes a sigh of relief.

Guards are dispatched to the party. There, several pokemon are being held on crosses. They are immediately drawn to a Wooper, confused as to how he's being held on the cross when he doesn't have any arms.

"Which one of you is Brian?" They ask.

"I--" begins a nearby, despondent-looking Pidgey. He is tired of being called a messiah, which he is not, and he wants to go home.

The Wooper interrupts. "I'm Brian! That's me!" The guards nod and begin untying the Wooper. As they drag him off, he shouts back. "I'm free, bitches! For so long, I've been tormented! They kept on calling me Wooper Goldberg even though I was clearly male! But now I'm free! Free to do as I please! WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP...!"

More guards walk up to a nearby Feraligator with cybernetic parts. "Are you releasing me, too?" he asks.

"No, they're reevaluating your sentence. You're being sent to the daycare." They untie him and drag him off too.

Brian looks around, suddenly realizing he's the highest-leveled pokemon in the party. "Oh no," he says, "Oh no..."

"Don't get down," says a nearby Shuckle. "It's best in these situations to just let it all out and sing a song!"

Everyone begins to whistle and sing.

That was so fucking amazing. We were just getting to Cherrygrove, slowly, managing to cut a tree down. Democracy was voted down immediately (I'm rather happy to say I'm getting good at posting those "SPAM A/UP/START/ANARCHY NOW" messages, which seem to work pretty well, so I helped), so people were complaining about the walk. Then, I look back at the screen and realize "Wait, that's the FLY animation." Then, as the chat looked over in shock, we flew to the Lake of Rage, basically as far as physically possible from our goal.
