Fleshed out my character a bit (and changed the name). When does this start, anyway?

I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

Probably on wednesday or tuesday evening - I have a test on tuesday and so must revise. I've started sorting out character sheets and typing up the introduction.

Tack, are those scored after or before modifiers have been applied?

Recruiting players, eh?

Could I play a mech?

You could possibly play a construct, like a Golem?
This universe is Magic>Technology.

After. And I minused my Mag/Att from my max hp, which I assumed was how it went for Soul users.

I find Suthrund's name ironic, considering the name of Ferrikos' patron god. :P

A golem. Hmm.

I hadn't considered a golem. I'm really not sure. They don't really fit into the lore so much - most golems are created through soul magic as 'fire-and-forget' sort of troops. You give a suit of armour or something some soul energy, give it the command "kill this guy" and they go straight for him and try to kill him. Rather, the order isn't "kill this guy", more like "This guy will mend your soul if you eat his." So they kill him, and rip him to bits, but without the intelligence or ability to absorb the soul, they burn out.

And some soul mage somewhere cackles evilly to himself.

It's one of the sources of tension between the two nation states. When the game opens, they're almost on the brink of war.

Tempted to re-allocate my skills so I don't have as much of an overlap with Tack's skillset.

Ancient golem which hasn't fulfilled its orders yet?

If that doesn't work, my second idea would be some sort of incorporeal specter which uses the souls of enemies to sustain itself.

You're elemental, I'm soul, even if we're both full-time mages.
I daresay you'll be pewpew fire-slinging, and I'll be more like a buffer/debuffer/summoner.

He could be a golem which for some reason has the collective souls of a village residing in him?

Or-

Two powerful soul mages had a battle. One sent him to kill the other- the latter put more magic into him, re-bound him and sent him back to kill the first. And so continues until they both realized they'd poured so much soul magic into the golem that he'd become more powerful than them. Law of blu-tac made him rip the rest of the souls out of the two wizards, and with so many conflicting ideas swirling around inside him, he blue-screened for a century and re-booted with sentience.

Reckon something like this would sell it?

Ancient golem which hasn't fulfilled its orders yet?

If that doesn't work, my second idea would be some sort of incorporeal specter which uses the souls of enemies to sustain itself.
If the second, expect to be fighting with KJ and I over souls.

I was thinking more along the lines of making magic items, if that's viable, truth be told.
