Akroma's Gym challenge
« on: February 13, 2014, 09:47:22 am »

Since the rivalry challenge is going extremely slow, time for a new challenge. Welcome to the Akroma League.

In this league, the players will strife to become champ. To do so, you will face me in 8 Gym battles, 4 Elite 4 battles, and 1 champion battle.
Battles will be held on showdown, meeting place is the usual Art chatroom.

What you need to participate:

You may bring 10 ((8 turned out to not be enough, it appears)) pokemon to choose from. Those may not be Ubers, standard OU rules apply. Additionaly, Item clause applies. Before each battle, you may choose which of your mons will be send into battle for the gym. All your mons must be registered, that is to say just post the mons. Feel free to keep the element of suprise, but note, it's against the rules to change moves, abilities, items or EV spreads mid-game. Don't do that. I mean, I have little in order to actually check, but it's all in good sports.

The gym battles are 4 vs 4, that is to say I will bring 4 mons of a certain type, and you bring the 4 mons from your selection that you believe will fare best in this gym.

The gyms are as follows:

Fairy:

Dark:

The elite 4 will be 6 vs 6 battles, they are as follows:

Ghost:

Rock:

Grass:

The champion battle will be 6 vs 6, and will consist of a battle against 6 hand-picked mons from the list above. Which ones they are..who knows?

Looking forward to challengers. Unlike the rivalry game, this game only needs me and the player in question active, and if time permits, all battles can be done in one sitting, so this should be a lot more casual.

Now come, and register your team. Be forever engraved in Bay12s hall of fame, for the victories you have achieved alongside your partners.

Correction: I said I didn't WANT to :P

It's too much of a pain to make a new team just to test your league.

Though I'm making one now mwahahahhaa.

I'll wait till you post the moves of your current teams before I challenge you again.

--------------

I'll make this my permanent team changing registering thingy.

Hmmm, I'm going to give it a go with my team of 6 that I'm trying to refine a bit. I'll just pick and choose 4 from the 6 until I lose, which will probably be pretty quickly. It'll give me time to think about a set of 10, though.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.
