"My honor and now all of you. All they have to do is mention I'm lying and I could not prevent you from coming after me. Right now for instance any one of them could tell you what I say is false and you could force me to do it.

The reason I explained this to you all was so that you would have reason to trust me. I treat them with honor and respect as free beings who choose to fight at my side.


You conversed with your summons and did not ask me what would happen after the binding. I assumed you would have thought about what you were asking before agreeing to it. Otherwise take her to the core even you can channel mana into a stone. She can simply generate another body.
I would have thought when I refused to train you as a summoner you would have known you would not be able to summon."

"I assumed that you wouldn't teach me a skill that has no use to me."

"And what exactly did you think a skill named binding would teach? Perhaps you should consider your actions in future before you seek to bind a living creature. I taught you a skill you chose to use it without first seeking to understand how it works.

I can remove her from the stone if you want and she agrees."

We could ssslay you if you lied, that isss true, but they would lossse as well. None of usss can sssummon, and you have refused to train othersss. They would be trapped inssside their ssstones. A wretched exissstence."

She hissed and spat on the ground.

"What you have taught, then, is ssslavery."

"I was in assumption that it wouldn't end with one of my new friends trapped as that makes it actively harmful and thus give it more reason to go untaught unless you teach all the relevant skills."

[Alexandria]

"He asked to learn it and I made him swear not to abuse it. You jump to death? Could you not instead simply force me to free them? You know I can do it so I could not lie and no living beings is unbreakable. Why did you come if your going to ignore everything I have told you?

My freeing them here and now would not remove summoners from the world. However with my comrades aid I can make the world better for at least some of them. Would you rather I had left them trapped and alone for the rest of eternity to go slowly insane in isolation. They had the choice of freedom and chose instead to remain with me. You and they have my word they will be set free if they wish it. Have I done anything to suggest I treat them badly? Or that I can not be trusted to keep my word?


Should you not have before using what I had taught you then asked me what the consequences of it's use would be? I am not the one who bound her without considering the consequences you are and that is one of the many reasons I am unwilling to train a person I do not know in summoning. I know my intentions are pure I can not say the same for any of you and now you have learned that lesson.

If she wishes freedom I will free her now before you all or any later date she wishes. Otherwise this is how things remain until you prove you are worthy of becoming a summoner. And summoners can do far more then simply bind a living soul we can call souls of the dead back and bind them as well if they agree. It is a power I will not share without the certainty that whoever I teach is worthy.

"Your intentionsss remain to be ssseen, sssummoner. It isss a ssstrange way to teach but half then blame the ssstudent, calling it jussstification to not finisssh the lessson."

Kyle spits the last word like a curse.

[Alexandria]

"I expected him to consider the consequences of his actions. If you teach somebody how to wield lightning because you believe him to be responsible enough to wield it and then he kills with it does that make it your fault?

I know with certainty that I can correct his mistake. It is the same risk every person who teaches a skill takes the teacher is not responsible for what his student does with the skills he learns. The student has free will and his responsible for his own actions.

Now that Kyle understands the seriousness of the request he made in ignorance I will teach him how to summon if he still wishes for it. If instead he does not wish that responsibility I will free Alma from her stone.

[Sanure]

Alma Alrune is still bound to Kyle. Torban is unable to free her if he attempts. She is also currently asleep.

"She's fine and happy, she also understands her current situations. She has faith in you which is one large reason I'm willing to train you. As a matter of fact she's currently sleeping peacefully."

Torban sighs and looks around.

"Have I given any of you reason to doubt my sincerity?"

"Your sincerity? No. If you aren't telling me something or not however is a topic that's up for debate."
