Jundial, Land of Beginnings

Welcome to Jundial. Lands of growth and life. Lands of beginnings.

During the span of the worlds life, eight major races developed sentience. The Silus, the Mithra, the Humans, the Kobolds, the Lizardfolk, the Centaurs, the Elves, and the Verdis all lived in harmony until the event know as The Harrowing. The Harrowing was a cataclysmic battle of the gods that shattered the world of Jundial into eight shards. Many centuries later, Jundial reformed and the eight races began to war with each other, having forgotten their heritage. Land was fought for and villages destroyed. Seeing what their petty desires had caused, the gods split Jundial again, this time to teach the races right from wrong. The shards would join back together and and the races would attempt to live in harmony once more.

Ixohr, god of nature, wouldn't have this. He was bitter from losing The Harrowing and he made sure to sabotage all attempts to fix the world. He was put in charge of teaching the Verdis and he did so, teaching them that all races were beneath them, and that the elves had enslaved them many thousands of years ago. The verdis believed these lies, and when Jundail reformed, the Verdis began their assault on the Elven forests. The elves learned of the ensuing army from Ixohr in disguise and was told that the humans had sent the Verdis. Ixohr Spread lies and sowed deceit causing all of the progress the gods had made to utterly fail.

Obus, god of honesty, learned about Ixohr's doing, and warned the races of his treachery. A treatise was formed, and the eight races agreed that before they rejoined the world as a single race, an exploratory caravan would be sent to a location deemed worthy by the gods. The gods admired the races' intelligence and designated the Merthy Woods as the caravan's destination. Amione, god of dreams, used his powers to send a message to ten people across the world. They would be the chosen few who would go on this adventure. They were told to meet up at the human city of Roton.

This is their story.

The calls went out and 10 people were called to the town of Rotom. All that was said was to look for a Lupine Mithra who looked human in the Inn of No Regrets. He would be your guide.

Lucien wakes up and looks out the door of his flat. He was tired of this life and wanted some adventure. He lived in the Town of Rotom and had grown bored of it. He began heading out to the Inn of No Regrets. The place his dreams had told him to visit.

Torban walked into the bar with his hood up concealing his face. Following behind him came a hulking warrior plated in iron 8 swords strapped to his back each glowing faintly in a different color.

Looking around briefly Torban marched up to Lupine his head tilted to one side as if listening to a conversation nobody else could hear. The iron plated warrior settled into place behind Torban at ease his eyes flashing about the room constantly for danger.

"Oh look. The crazy deep elf has arrived. Go ahead have a seat. Could you lose the summon? He's scaring the patrons..." Lucien motions to the seat across from him and looks at the privateer at the bar, "Hey privateer scum at the bar, come over here and I'll order you a few drinks."

Solairi Stormhatched was, unbeknown to anyone, already at the Inn of No Regrets. Rather, she had ascended to the roof, resting on the sun-warmed tiles and bathing. One crimson eye was open, her hands propping her head up. She saw the pirate enter.
"That'sss one." She smiled. She could smell it on him. The touch of the gods. There would be others, though she wasn't sure how many. Huhanke, the Thunder Scales, hadn't told her that, when the lightning flashed in her dreams and the thunder rumbled whispers.

When more showed up, she'd descend to the ground. For now, though, she'd enjoy the sun.

"He has a name. Perhaps you should ask it and speak to him directly.

Before he takes offense. He's tends to make a mess when he gets angry.

The door to the bar swung open again, admitting a tall, battle-scarred centaur.  Her armor looked worn from regular use, as did the long halberd slung along her flank, but both looked well-cared for.  She glanced around, identifying each person in the bar in turn, finding the one lupine mithra sitting at the bar near an elf and a person in full armor.  That, then, was the person she had been called here to look to, and presumably she was not alone in receiving those dreams if he had already been approached.

It was strange, though.  The twin Goddesses of the Night and Dreams had brought her these omens, and the dreams of the gods had a power that, even if rejected, still had to be respected.  This dream had come to her, and she had followed its trail this far, but here and now, she was unsure, unable to decide clearly whether she was willing to follow that old, ruined path once more.  Not approaching either, she instead stood by the bar and ordered a drink, close enough to listen but not too close to be seen as listening.

She had heard the voices in her head. Awtuna and Patar were first among them, for those she held in greatest regard. They were the twin gods of her ship and her crew, and they ensured both received safe passage to the city.
Vulpa did not tell her crew where she was going, or why. this was not an endeavor to concern them, she felt, even though she did not herself know. They would only seek to join her, perhaps even earning the gods anger. She left command with the first mate, to await her return for no longer than one week. If she did not come back, he was to take captaincy of the crew - he was a good man, and would do the Tempest proud.
She shook herself. It was not certain that she would be leaving them. And if she was, then she had said her farewells. A hint of her usual confidence entered her steps as she passed down the gangplank onto the docks, the crowds clearing for the unusual figure. Her tricorn sat askew, its crown marked with a trio of feathers, and the faded naval mark on its brow oddly out of place. Beneath her long leather coat she wore a simple white blouse, tucked into brown leather pants - rough enough for sea but fine in its own right. The belt at her waist supported a number of pouches in addition to the satchel on her back, and besides them hung both a full holster and an equally full sheath. Her black boots, knocking on the wooden pier, stretched up over her legs, almost up to the knee.  She whistled gently, striding through the town, although she seemed misplaced among both the rich and the poor. And after a short time, she came upon the Inn of No Regrets.

The Inn was warm with the heat of the fire, and yet the coat stayed on as Vulpa slipped through the crowd onto a bar stool. A quick wink went to the barman, before she span around to survey the room. As of yet there was no sign of anyone like the gods had shown her. Only the tap of a leather sole on the crosspiece of the stool beneath her revealed her anticipation.

((I need to go for a second so just pretend I haven't noticed anyone else yet :P ))

And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

Lucien lets out a hearty laugh and motions for the summon to have a seat. "Live a little elf. Hey Dryad, You're group's right here. Best not bother with the bar else I'll have to pick some poor bastard off the ground." Lucien lets out a howl of laughter and throws a tankard up at the roof, hitting it and making a loud noise, "And you, feathered lizard, need to get down here and meet your compatriots. You'll be with them for a very long time." He practically shouts this at the roof.

Torban settles himself into a chair his ears twitching slightly every few seconds as his companion silently adjusted his position to remain behind him.

A moment later Torban snapped agitatedly at the air.

"Will you 2 please be quiet!!!!"

Cymea glanced over sharply at the mithra, somewhat discomfited at being directly addressed so quickly.  Nonetheless, she reasoned, she hadn't committed herself yet, and in the heart as on the steppes, there was never a need to keep to one path.  To hear it from amongst them would be no different than to hear it beside them.  Silently, she stepped forward, moving to stand amongst the growing group.

Lucien laughs at the elf, "Voices keep talking?"

Cedona laughs, "Don't worry Torben. We only want to talk to you. They can't hear us~"
Ydione interrupts Cedona, "Leave the poor boy alone. You're scaring him~" Ydione laughs.

Lucien stares at Torben waiting for an answer.
