The thing I am suggesting is the attack never stop. The enemy should slowly spawn new units in their town and continue to attack you, until you destroy/kill town/king or similar.

What we really need is an "outside enemy": One faction that doesn't have a presence on the map, and just keeps coming, with each wave having twice as many troops as the last.  Imperial Legion faction?

Otherwise, the endgame consists of killing children and animals so you can summon enough stuff to kill the leaders.  Potions help too.

Yeah, also some leaders have a pathetic bodyguard while some are full fledged armies. Also, don't underestimate the killing power of spammed thrown potions.

There was a silly bug that caused the game to crash if you pressed the mouse wheel in adventure mode (not that it had any function, anyway). I've uploaded a fixed version already.

More (hopefully) good news: expect an Indiegogo campain soon...

Well, 5 minutes in and I had spawned 5 goblins, my gnomes were trying to outfit them then the humans and elves attacked at the exact same time with 20 or so troops each.

Can I make more imps? I can't seem to find the option to.

I just recently started playing and would like to point out 2 issues I noticed.
  • First is that you can retire in Adventurer vs Keeper mode, after doing so you can go to the mode again and then you take control of the old adventurer while constantly switching between the two in an unplayable mess.
  • I have no idea what decides damage dealt to creatures. 5 Vampires swinging on an Elf Lord did no damage but 1 Ogre with a bow took him out. A vampire Lord with antique weapons couldn't hurt a knight (harmless attack) until I power worded him despite having much higher Att. (Hard Mode, everything dies before VL's in easy)
  • I once killed a shopkeeper with my Keeper, was attacked by a knight, I power worded right then, and I got the message that the shopkeep screamed as his corpse hit the wall ??? Bug?
I will have more to say later (Good things) but time is short right now.

Thank ye, I guess I can use prisoners for that to but they're much better off as mana batteries :P
Even better if you have them do "Hard Labor" for a while first to boost excavation and retrieval speeds. I usually torture them a bit and then also execute them for the Impaled Heads.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind in your early games:
  • Boulders traps are activated at 4 tiles away from the boulder itself. If a door is placed in front of it troops won't run from it until it smashes the door. I find 1 door 2 tiles from the boulder is most efficient as it takes time for the boulder to break the door and enemies won't do so as quickly.
  • Ironworking is required for minion weapon creation. Be warned havings archery and traps makes equipment spawning more rare. I usually wait for Ironworking for Gnomes.
  • Gnomes default to labs or workshops, limit you workshops/labs if you want to reliably train them!
  • Take time before attacking any wildlife if on aggressive, you need time to train and equip your minions. If you do so 1-2 settlements will figure out your existence and may attack.
  • Vampires are most versatile, Iron Golems are cheap (no equipment for usefullness and no sleep), and beasts are better for planned purposes (Cave bears for the win!).
  • You minions don't use arrows unless friendlies are out of their crosshairs, useful for raids.
  • Wood is your most plentiful resource but everything else is limited. Plan out what to use your stone and iron for so you don't need to Remove construction (Don't get back material unless it is still planned)
  • Try not to set trap plans if you actually have them as canceling doesn't return the trap item.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

Bay Watchers,

KeeperRL crowdfunding has just started on Indiegogo. It's an important moment. If you see value in the game please support it. If not for current bugs and balance issues :), then for what the future can bring. If the campaign succeeds, I shall be very dedicated to make it all happen.

Thank you.

Why would you want to train Gnomes?  They're worker-fodder that I actively kill off once I research Orcs.   :P

Yeah, gnomes are pretty terrible at fighting even with training.

Every now and then, lurking Other Games pays off in a big way. This is one of those days. More fun than AoW3, for sure. I'll be donating and hoping this grows.
