Name- Vulpa
Race- Kitsune Mithra
Age- 29
Profession- Pirate
Appearance- Vulpa is average height but slim and graceful, with red fur. She wears a Captain's longcoat, and a stolen naval tricorn. Around her neck hangs a locked bronze locket - she does not possess the key. Her left ear is torn. A slight grin hovers at the corners of her mouth, suggesting she knows something her opponents don't.
Background- Vulpa was born to a small tribe in the Desert of Skulls, to the clan chief and the shaman, whose concoctions were renowned through ,many of the tribes. She grew up carefree, until at the age of 12 a band of slavers stumbled upon them. A brutal and ruthless slaughter followed, most of her family killed before her eyes. Her father escaped with her, leading them away to a nearby cave system. That night, illuminated by the flames from their camp, and the sound of footsteps echoing ever closer, he pressed into her palm a bronze locket - locked, for her mother had owned the key.
Her father dies in those caves, defending her. The slavers bound her, and took her to a distant port to sell - exotic goods always did better than others. She was bought by a wealthy naval captain, an elderly man, who was far from kind. She spent two years in his 'service,' before his ship was raided by pirates.
The pirates found the young Mithra curled up into a ball in the corner of the room - her 'master' was found dead besides her, a dagger in the small of his back, and his blood crusting her fur. As they reached out to her, she lashed out at them, but they soon subdued her, and brought her before their own captain.
The captain took pity on her - ignoring his first mate's urging to throw her overboard, instead he took her in. He gave her the name Vulpa, which she has used ever since, and taught her the ways of the sea. A month later, the first mate tried to take her life, and instead she took his, twisting his blade aside to bury her teeth in his neck. She soon took his place in the crew, and almost as quickly earned the respect of her crewmates. A natural leader, when the captain died she took command, and the vessel - the Tempest - became one of the fiercest on the seas, fearing no force of law.
Personality- Vulpa usually bears a lighthearted demeanor - confident and some might even say flirtatious. However, she is quick to anger, and near impossible to placate. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, and takes an affront to them as one to herself.
Vulpa bears a quiet determination, and whilst first impressions suggest she might easily break, this is soon learned to be false. She has a silver tongue to her foes, but is almost brutally honest with companions - her streak of iron extends to her opinions also, for whilst she is carefree in most matters, she will not back down on the few things she feels strongly about.
When pressed on her past, she has a tendency to sink into a sullen silence, and her temper rises. Even her crew have little idea of her life before they first met her.
