((Just out of curiosity, what other kind of laser could you possibly fire? Potato?))

Oh.

I'll handle that after my last class of the day, which I will be leaving for shortly.

[5+0.2-1.3=3] You do not find many tracks. Selina hid them well. You can guess the general direction she went, at least.

((Now you can do another action and get caught up.))

Keep on tracking in the free world.
...
FIND THE DAMN SELINA. MAYBE SHE CAN FIX THIS SHIT.

Kext: [1 (oh come on)-0.4-1=-1]
Angel: [2=2]
Kext and Angel are continuing to build up a case for keeping mages on leashes, still firmly convinced he's following Selina. Man, she's fast...at least as fast as you!

Kyle sighs.
"You know, I think she doesn't want to hurt people."
Kyle goes off to look for her I guess.
[5-0.2-1=4]
You think you might have picked up on some tracks?

Selina tries to find a large tree to climb and hide in, also hiding her tracks along the way.
[2-0.3+0.2=2]
Not quite so good track-hiding. Not much at all.
[3=3]
Selina finds a medium-sized tree, probably unsuited for climbing.
She hears someone coming, and reflexively blasts her with magic! (Because otherwise the overshot would do nothing.)
Power: [4+1=5]
Control: [5-0.2+1=6]
Location: [6]
...
Well then.

Fire light lasers at the crystals.
Please don't cause a photapocalypse.
Power: [4+1+0.2=6]
Control: [5-1+0.2-1=3]
You shoot a few beams of phase-coherent light (that's what lasers are, right? More or less?) at a big crystal. It breaks, scattering the beam; some more crystals are cracked and a few people get hit. [Luck: 1] One of them is you. [3-0.2=3] Ow. You have a nasty burn.

general direction go!
[Luck: 6]
You head into the woods in search of Selina. You think you hear someone...and you're right! You head towards someone, and a burst of white light spears out of the trees and hits you in the chest.
Because the dice* hate you. And are apparently Frozen fans.

*I say "dice," but I've only been using one, a little green one with white spots.

Follow the tracks. Also experiment with turning the crystal into meat.

Inhibitor emotion.

And yeah, that's within a standard deviation of what would be needed. The specifics obviously vary from person to person (ponder for a moment what would be needed to reverse curses from people like Kext), but something like that would be needed.

Unfortunately, you need a few things to do that:
1. Someone who knows or can determine the inhibitor emotion of Selina's magic and the corresponding acts to do.
2. Someone who allows said acts to be performed (and any needed materials).
3. Time to get these things organized.

1 and 2 would be easy if it wasn't for 3. There's a reason that that "little" problem was as big or a bigger problem than the world being frozen for Anna and a couple people close to her in the later half of the movie. In fact, said frozen world was ultimately easier to solve.

(And so it was that he who would fight fire with fire burned down his own kingdom. Well, transformed it into a lifeless expanse of crystal, but still ironic.)
