Irony Owl starts to advance slowly over to the strange alien pod, using the cars as cover.
Remuthra moves up to a close car, he can see one of those Meld canisters through a window. He readies his rifle.
Kaos follows, and moves up next to Remuthra, rifle at the ready.
Paladin moves up to another car, but still can't see the enemy, so she readies her gun.

  I'll be your shadow, Remuthra, making sure that I can at least throw some lead at whatever you uncover.

   But, if we have to outline every turn, this is going to take forever - Mastahcheese, use your best judgement as far as I am concerned.

If we want the meld, which we probably do, then yeah.

Of course, this does raise some interesting philosophical questions, since bumrushing the aliens to get at their precious goo does put people at risk for rewards they're not necessarily going to get to use.

   But, if we have to outline every turn, this is going to take forever - Mastahcheese, use your best judgement as far as I am concerned.

This is true, but it is an interesting style. Keeping a few notes on how everyone prefers to act might be more practical, if he does decide to hurry things up.

     We should get the known Meld, with three covering the point-man, there will be something in that shop, moving someone up to look in the window or door and keeping full cover in the wall next to the door will be the best option.
     Taking cover around cars is not altogether the greatest idea, they blow up way too easy.

Well, the reason I don't want to do multiple turns at once is because I want to play this as you guys as the soldiers. Yes, this makes it tedious during the first bits, and during those occasional times where you have to find that lone alien you skipped over before, and cases like that, but that's how I want to do it.

I've seen other X-COM let's plays where people don't get to actually have any control over their characters at all, they just get a mission outline of what happened to them, and yeah, for some people that's fine, but I like more, particularly when the game lets you do this. I literally went through every game in my library to see if there were any others that would work well for this kind of thing, and none of them even come close.

And yes, if you don't get the Meld fast enough, it self-destructs.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this, but please bold your actions so I can see them easier amongst your planning.
After this next turn, if you fail to bold your actions then I will no longer take your soldier's safety into consideration when choosing where to move them. Otherwise, I'll try to keep them in cover by default.
But hey, if you want to be suicidal, that's your choice.

Well, if a few people decided to go in cover next to the doors, go on over watch, then open the doors quietly next turn, the soldiers wouldn't be in that much danger.
