Day resistance and blood memory, to find out what it is.
Gleeson should get enhanced senses and shift form

Yes, Blood Memory helps you keep whatever you pick up from your victims, skill-wise.

0 - Memories stay for a few days. You can do nothing to stop this.
1 - Memories stay for about a week, then take a pint a day to keep.
2 - Memories stay for about a fortnight, and then a pint a week to maintain.
3 - Memories stay for about a month, and it takes one pint a fortnight.
4 - Memories stay for a half a year, with the same renewal rate. You begin to acquire spells at the same rate as 0 Blood Memory.
5 - Memories stay for a year, same renewal rate. Spells are treated as skills with 1 Blood Memory - 1 pint per day per spell.
6 - Spells are treated as skills as per 2 Blood Memory.
7 - Same, but 3
8 - Same, but 4
9 - Same, but 5
10 - You know everything and never forget.

This does include spells that you cannot cast. You can have absolutely zero idea how to cast it, and never be able to learn it on your own, but still be able to cast.

[Oh, by the way, the complete list of "common" vampire skills you need to have at least 1 in to check off the master requirements.

- Enhanced Senses
- Time Dilation
- Feeding
- Superhuman Body
- Gaze
- Human Servant
- Animal Servant/Second Hunger
- Alternate Form
- Blood Frenzy
- Blood Memory
- Day Resistance
- Creature of the Night

Lastly, that "Blood Mastery" skill you picked up is basically a note that you have indeed drained another vamp. As of right now, you can't do much with it, although I will drop the big ol' hints of "try burning blood to enhance a skill" and "learn blood magic."]

Anyway. I'd say its time to get a human servant. That is on the list. Also, you should keep the checklist updated and posted with the other character information.

Check out Cellphone Contacts list. We have to know some people who would make decent servants.

You remember a few contacts right off-hand:

- The bestie
- Your OOA (Object Of Affection / Object of Aggravation)
- Personal trainer
- Second best friend
- Sibling (way up in El Dorado County)
- Parental Unit
- Friend #3
- College Room-Mate
- Favorite college professor
- Mechanic

You consider which of them to hit up. With only one servant available, it's not the easiest pick. And speaking of which, you'd better contact everyone else to let them know you're okay. Or maybe not... you haven't seen the news since you died.

[I'm giving you guys complete freedom here. Make these folks up: name, job, general skillset, etc. And then pick one to contact.

If there's enough input, all of these might turn into Significant NPC's.]

I'd check the news before contacting anybody too close to you.

In the meantime, the servant should be somebody who isn't too close to us. Our good friends and family get vampirehood later on.

Lets call our personal trainer, and look for an opportunity to make a servant out of him. Lets say his name is Dylan and he is  a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, and thus has some skill with firearms, first aid, mechanics, and other soldier stuff. He currently makes a meager living doing personal training and some drug dealing on the side.

Servanthood gives the vampire perks without the drawbacks.  It's also for eternity.

Speaking as a player and not as a GM, I'd be damn sure that I could trust my servant with my life, because that's exactly what you're doing.

Well our old boss does know our car, so a new one will make us safer.

I was thinking of a panel van, so we can sleep in the back during the day.

You're just about to pick up the phone and call when it occurs to you that it's about 3 AM, and that literally nobody in the world wants to be called at 3 AM to talk about vampires. Or anything at all, for that matter. Also, your phone is in the car and there's a dead body. You grab him by the leg and heft, then start spinning like you're doing the hammer throw. After a few revolutions, you let go, and the body goes flying off into the ocean. With the evidence (presumably) dealt with, faintly justified by thoughts of sunlight burning the body or something, you return to the car, dress, and check the phone anyway. You flick through your texts - your datemate increasingly worried about you, one text from your little brother Dylan asking "wut th. E fuck is gong on" (verbatim), and a few from the best friend.

Tomorrow. Bed.

You return to the hotel, and watch TV until sleep and until sunset, not having had the bathroom visit you expected. Will and Ruth are waiting for you, and as you squint from the last rays of the sun, he tosses a black gym bag at you. You catch it by reflex.

"So, you're officially a missing person," Will tell you, grinning. "And a certain boss of yours is being held on suspicion of murdering you."

You blink.

"Open up the bag, eh?"

You do so. Inside are candles, incense, chalk, assorted stones, a bronze bowl, a knife that looks like it came out of a magic shop, sage, a deck of tarot cards, a notepad, and a few other miscellaneous items.

"Look, I've really got to get going..." you tell them, and they both shake their heads.

"One hour. Then you can go. You paid for it, after all."

The hour goes by rather quickly, as it involves a quick rundown of ritual. It seems to you that you did the lab before the lecture, and after asking, Ruth tells you that's how it's supposed to go.

"Oh."

Will and Ruth exchange glances, and then look at you. You feel vaguely uncomfortable.

"We have three questions for you. The first is if you'd care to be initiated as a member of the Coven, California branch. Think of it as a magical fraternity or honor society combined with AAA and a community service club and you've got the general idea. Certain stores will give you a discount, there's services available, etc etc. Won't take but a minute. We'll ask the rest after you let us know."

You ask for a moment, and send a few texts - specifically, to Dylan and Frank he mechanic, who you trust enough to keep their mouths shut. You return and look at the couple, not at all surprised to see Gleeson stretched across both of their laps and purring as they pet him.

"So how about it?"

[We'll get to the mechanic, don't you worry. Next two questions in the next post.]
