You return to your room, call over Gleeson, and then cut open a narrow wound on your arm. For a moment, there's no blood, but then it wells up. You lower the wound to the cat, and wince as the barbed tongue laps up the fluid. There's a few moments where nothing happens, and then you feel something happen.

Maybe even Something.

You meet eyes and suddenly feel yourself unwinding. Your eyes tell you nothing is happening; your Sight tells you that you and Gleeson are dust devils, and then one, before splitting back apart. You're slightly aware of looking at yourself through feline eyes (and a whole cycle of realization you neatly bypass) and feel a different consciousness floating around yours. Gleeson, likely. He doesn't say much (or anything, really), but you have the sense that he's quite satisfied with the changes. After breaking the gaze, you feel something inside you change, and the ebb and flow of life inside you changes.

You bid Gleeson to do as he will at night and guard you in the day; he flicks his ears and scoots off into the night. You head out and walk down the street, bypassing closed salons, a yoga place, and finally arrive inside a sushi bar that's just about closed. Even though it's about last call, it's still reasonably busy inside the place - about seven people, not counting staff. Three of them appear to be a party, one is a couple, and the remainder are singletons.

Now what?

Location:
HapiFish, 190 N Coast Highway 101

Spoiler: Gleeson (click to show/hide)

+1 to that plan but as he's a cat does he really need to drink human blood?

He's alive, so... not really. But he does act like a backup battery for you.

How much feeding? Fatally, or about a liter?

We could do so non-fatally (liter as stated) and then Gaze-Hypnotize them into thinking they passed out into a nightmare in the bathroom. The less dead bodies we leave in the beginning the safer.

After that I think it'd be fun to have us learn "Cat skills" from Gleeson.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

[I'll do more IC explanation, but assume that you can basically Trinity things from your servant and vice versa. What they know, you know.

Since you studied magic, he counts as a familiar, hence his sudden possession of magic. Don't be surprised if you suddenly end up with better veiling or fear spells from him.

Also, apply "Hide" and "Advanced Hide" to Gleeson's known skills. You could add in "selective listening" but that's a given with cats.]

You sit down at the bar next to one of the singletons. He looks you over and offers to buy you a drink, making eye contact. It's easy to roll this one, and after enjoying the 7 and 7, you lean forward and suggest something quietly, then get up and head towards the bathroom. After a moment or so, he follows. You gaze him again to be sure he's under your control, tell him to drop trou, suggest that he'll wake up and feel ill, and then for the femoral there. Instinct - somehow, you get the impression that bite marks on the neck is something people would notice.

Surprisingly enough, the wound starts clotting after you pull away. After dragging the man onto the toilet, you straighten up, take the $24 from his wallet, and head back out. You finish your drink, noting that you're still hungry enough to drain a person whole, but that you don't need more if you want to wake up tomorrow night. Of course, given that you'll have about 45 minutes to find someone to snack on (or five people safely), you consider maybe having some more.

Oh, hey, it sure looks like there's commotion in the bathroom.

Now what?

***
Healthy: 98/100 HP, 5/15 MP
Hungry: 4.3/10 liters, estimated blood at sleep is 3.1 liters
Timing: Dawn in 3 hours, 45 minutes, estimated time before frenzy upon waking is 48 minutes

(You've got a servant, so the 1 pint her hour is now reduced to 1 liter for every 3 hours.  Daytime energy consumption is lessened to one liter for every 5 hours as opposed to 4. Find a human servant and it becomes 1 liter / 4 hours awake and 1 liter / 6 hours asleep.)
