The Temporal Compound. A treasure trove, but so terribly dangerous, it is a good idea to think on your feet. It calls for adventurers from every place and every time, yet not a single one has lived to return.

 The players are delving a fantasy/sci-fi/kitchen sink dungeon, but eveything is too dangerous to just stand up to and fight. The solution: RUN! This is my first RtD, and I hope it will meet your expectations. I will accept 4-6 players for start, then, if this gets popular there will be a waitlist.

I reserve the right to reject any characters I deem unfit for the game.

Rolls will be made with a 20-sider, with different rolls having different difficulties depending on attributes, and the results decided by the margin of success or failure as follows:
<(-10): Critical failure; absolutely everything goes wrong, possibly causing reality itself to protest.
(-10)-(-6): Serious failure: Things go very wrong, closing any other options you may have had.
(-5)-(-1): Failure: The attempt fails, but something else may be done to recover.
0: Marginal Success: The action succeeds, but may cause some undesirable effects.
1-5: Success: Everything goes as planned, hooray!
6-9: Great Success: Everything goes well, and something may happen to make things even better.
10: Critical Success: Reality itself solves any problems, saving from trouble.
10<: Overshot: The action is done so well, it causes collateral damage with poor consequences.

Certain doom certainly awaits, but a group of people enter the Compound. Who are they?

   Appearance: A sharply dressed gentleman wearing a top hat and suit, with a magnificent brown beard.
   Theme:  20th  century England
   Attributes: (Assign 12 points, no more than 3 per attribute)
      Speed: 2
      Agility: 3
      Strength: 3
      Perception: 2
      Toughness: 2
   Inventory: Top hat, gentleman's suit, Colt revolver, cane (with a sword hidden inside of it), fine shoes, gentleman's napkin, 18 rounds of revolver ammunition on his person.
   Special Abilities: Sharpshooter: +1 to shooting with a gun.
                                   Fencer: +1 to parrying and attacking with a sword.
   Story so far:A true gentleman, Marcus was walkind down the street one day when he was suddenly abducted and brought to whatever world we are in. Now he seeks the mysterious island in hoper that there is something there that could bring him back to earth.

   Appearance: A smaller, wirey man. Looks to be a natural born sprinter. Shaggy brown hair, with hazel eyes that looked tinged with yellow.
   Theme: Germany, 1972
   Attributes:

      Agility: 3
      Strength: 2
      Perception: 3
      Toughness: 1
   Inventory: Black pants and long shirt, with a mottle turtleneck. Light grey shoes, specially made (for running). Large pouch, a large serrated knife and a Luger that he found (15) rds.
   Special Abilities:
                          Street man: Gains a bonus to quick movements, and maneuvering in tight spaces, and a bonus to intuitive actions in these spaces.
                          Shady: Doesn't work well with others - negatives to that
                         
   Story so far: Manstein was in the East side of Berlin when the Soviets took over, and has lived most of his life on backstreets, stealing to live. After finding a Luger in some rubble, left over from the war, he became more ambitious. He made a mistake, attempting to kill a Soviet soldier who was beating one of his gang brothers, and barely escaping. Hunted, he sought safety in a ruined building when [HOWEVER WE GOT HERE] happened, and is dazed because of it.

All accepted. Do remember that this is not a combat RtD, though, so such abilities and items might not be the best.

[HOWEVER WE GOT HERE]

Indeed, how did he manage to get to a mysterious compound outside of space and time? Unless you edit your post to fit, we'll assume that the "call of the compound" actually means random wormholes opening and abducting random people.

Any other players signing up, your characters don't have to be from the past or even the real world, meaning they could come from the year 40000 where there is only war, for example, or a fantasy world of swords, magic and little people throwing rings to a volcano.

If nobody minds, I like being very redundant with my descriptions, so expect to see similar words a lot.

As the mysterious wormholes brought you to a mysterious place, each of you see two mysterious strangers in mysterious clothing - each other. The door to a mysterious building is not open, leaving you to suspect it is waiting for more people to arrive. The mysterious force of this place seems to also make Manstein mysteriously understand English and speak it, though with an accent.

   Appearance: This woman (around 21 years of age) stands at 5'6'' and is just under average in weight. She has light red and straight hair, which goes to her shoulders. Her eyes are a sea green color, and her skin is white. She wears an almost uniform-like set of gray clothing.
   Theme: Dystopian Future
   Attributes:
      Speed: 3
      Ability: 3
      Strength: 3
      Perception: 3
      Toughness: 0
   Inventory: Gray clothing, running shoes, black market electronic lock breaker (does not work on other locks)
   Special Abilities: Street Sense: +1 to perception when around enemies (but not when around other dangers)
 Saboteur: Can make rolls to sabotage electronic objects.
   Story so far: Not even a fully totalitarian society can completely destroy time. And in a totalitarian society, crime can become a way to rebel. Such was the way Idii Oqaam became a thief and saboteur for the black market: to rebel. But while a government cannot destroy crime fully, it can destroy criminals. Forced to go into hiding by pursuing government enforcers, Idii managed to find a way to escape... A portal to the Temporal Compound.

Manstein is confused by the men around him, and backs quickly into the corner -

"Hey hey hey, I don't know how the fuck I got here, mein fraunds, und zis ist very strange..."

After a moments pause, he continues with -
"Und... How am I sprechen your language?"
