Agreed, I'm not sure what people's problem is. It looked alright, although certainly not as good as a trailer/preview/teaser/whatever should look. The comedy wasn't amazing, but not every show can be Adventure Time and it still got a few chuckles regardless. Tails was the weakest part, but side characters being lame is par for the course in Sonic.

I always imagined that levels with "egg" in the name or obvious egg references always had that weird egg stank around them, like there were hard-boiled eggs around.
