I have accrued a small pile of excess currency which I oughta get rid of else I end up buying figurines or something else that will end up with me hanging my head in shame of "You could have spent this on important shit, m8!"

Where will I be going? Well, it's very fluid and varies heavily on whenever someone will host me or not, but first I wish to fly myself into Berlin! Spending a couple days there to see all the little things Berlin has to offer, I will take a train to Gdansk, catch Warszawa on my way south, then down to Krakow from where I'm going for Prague and Wien. Afterwards it's a slow route through Bavaria and Rheinland to Amsterdam, south to Belgium and ending in Paris. There might be a slight flux along the way, so I mi~ght end up going northwards to Owlbread and his Scottish brethren afterwards, but that's a really optimistic scenario.

You might want to note that I didn't list everything. While I have an idea of what I really want to see and where I really want to go, I'm going to be relying on YOU! Yeah, you! Due to the fact that my pile of money is small and hotels are expensive, if I were able to pay even half of what I already have calculated for hotels instead of ending my trip in Prague, I'll be able to land myself in Brussels easily! It's also a matter of being able to meet the amazing people that reside on these boards in meatspace, and I'm all for that~ So the locations that I end up visiting will vary on whoever will want to host me for the most part!

I don't have an exact date for leaving set up just yet other than knowing it will be near the end of this month. I don't need much, just a bit of room and someone to speak English with so I can share experiences.

If there's something I've failed to mention, please point it out to me! Otherwise... well, let's see what happens.

That's a really cool plan you got here. I live in Krakow (some other forumite as well, I think, but not sure), but I only moved here in September for college, so I'm not that well-versed in the local topography, but I know some people both here and in Warsaw who should know.

I haven't really looked into this, but a while ago I read about an exploit that allows you to travel very cheaply through Germany by train. Basically if you (even nominally) start your voyage outside of Germany, your ticket remains valid for 14 days (2 months ago it was even 30), and you can take long detours and stops. This allows you to travel through half of Germany for about 150 Euro.

Balkans can be pretty cheap, but they mostly lack polish such as knowledgeable guides who speak good English, well-maintained museum etc. The nature is wonderful, though. If you don't mind a bit rough around the edges, though, you can have tons of fun for little money here. And it's quite safe, though you should be wary of people trying to overcharge you for stuff when they see you're a foreigner.

Hey, I'm in Kraków as well! Not a local, but have been living here a bit longer.

Whether it will or won't be possible to find you a place to stay depends very much on the exact time of your arrival.

Or you have Rail passes that let you take any train within Europe for a month or something, but they are kinda pricey. Or just plain hitchiking can work wonders.

I can probably host you near Brussels (I live 15 km away) when you get to Belgium.

Rail passes are awesome and I think they are cheaper for students or something?

Also if you do swing by Split do say hi, a lodging might not be an option depending on the time but I can atleast buy you lunch and a beer

Depending on how much you are interested in nature, I'd personally recommend you travel in spring, but I guess that really depends on your personal preferences.
