I need some ideas for a physics EEI. For those unfamiliar, thats a large, chosen project where i have to research, experiment and analyse something.
I'm leaning towards metallurgy, but I want more ideas.

Anyone got any?

If you're going materials science, random person: Tubes. Tiny ones made of pencil and whatnot. I do believe that's one of the sexier relatively recent advances in the field.

If you actually want to stick with overt metals, maybe something to do with cold forging? I hear that's a neat thing, if not terribly recent.

What level are we talkin about? If this is your graduate thesis equivalent the expectations are very different from your high school science class.

Year 12 level. I have some metalworking experience so I can get away with a few high temps.

Heck, you could do both metallurgy AND tubes - carbon nanostructures in Damascus steel blades.

I have no idea how to replicate this.

Maybe try to make an alloy as weak and brittle as possible, which is an unusual thing to see done?
