I'd say plot #6 from the south / #3 from the west looks best. It has islands which means bridges :3
This is assuming you're like me and don't terraform.

I'll go for the islands as well, no terraforming, no particular name or city type preference.  One question, though: are you using any mods?  I know of NAM for transportation and SPAM for agriculture, but not much else. ^_^

As for the size of the city, I always go for "the largest you can make it, bwah ha ha".  While of course starting with the least starting funds.

But I've never played past SC2.

Name suggestion:
How about something really unique, like Bay 12?   :P
