Oh no I just mean overall. Its a bit late to try doing this any way other than how we already have been.

I meant that mining horizontally, taking advantage of the spot distance of our prospectors and minimizing the amount of vertical shafts (and thus the amount of stairs we use) except for reaching valuable ores above and below us will help maximize our profits! Just because we don't need much money right now doesn't mean we shouldn't try to use as little cash as possible. :3

EDIT: The ideal way to have done this would've been horizontal shafts two rows apart, then we could've pinpointed the maximum amount of ores with minimal amount of effort!

Well, I want to make a staircase at AA which reaches to 23, connect the 23 horizontal to it, then connect the 17 horizontal to it. Afterwards it's just horizontal exploratory all the way, with a staircase here and there for getting delicious ores, it's a matter of sectioning away I-AA and AA-AS really.

Every two rows would get us maximum ores for minimum effort, and at that point we could fire the prospector. Still, four apart would make the prospector not absolutely useless and I think USEC likes the concept of a prospector. vOv

in other terms: prospector confirmed for useless, pls buff

also the moment we have actual, disposable cash i'm going to build a lot of platforms at A-E just try and stop me

Excel has thousands of rows and columns. This map could be huge. This is probably just a little baby sandbox while he builds further z levels.

And he hinted at us needing more prospectors later, and my guess is they'll get eated by monstars being shoved by the dozen into lootcaves.

CLUSTER MINE

As you labour away at the mine, a shady-looking fellow in a suit approaches you with an offer. He's willing to sell you a chunk of land about a kilometre away from here, at the price of $300 a tile. While you know that the land is poor in ore, it is close to the local railway station would make an excellent place to set up a town.

Yeah but its in a cleared tile. That's what I don't get.

How long will this offer stand for?

$6000? We could take it. We do potentially have $7695 on hand, but that would mean selling everything. Right now. I'm not deciding on this, but if you want to do so, it leaves 6 labourers free. DISREGARD THAT WE'RE BUYING THE FUCK OUT OF IT

Anyway, due to my previous action we've fucked up on row 15 and need a platform there, as I'm running from 23 as base for x+2. Need a staircase for 25 too, but at least my prediction that R25 is going to contain d was correct.

In case we don't buy the plot:

Buy ten labourers and ten pickaxes. Platform AC15, staircase Q24-25, AE16, mine AE-AG15, AE-AG17, P25, R25, Y-U17, Z-T19.

If we do buy the plot:

Sell all available ores. Platform AC15, staircase AE16, mine AE-AF15, AE-AG17. Acquire PLOT OF LAND.

What would be the benefits of buying the plot? Can we use it to set up forges and craft plot armor? /flee

The primary benefit is being able to set up your own little town, where your employees can stay in company owned houses and buy from the company store, reducing the salaries you have to pay out and allowing you to hire more workers. Eventually you'll be able to set up your own smelters and factories though, definitely.
