Mine out 5 more squares along row 23, along with squares 13AA-15AC. Four laborers haul ore out. Hire two more and buy two more pickaxes, for a total of 20. Continue staircase on AA.

CLUSTER MINE

There's some confused over being called dwarves, but Forman Rannin's patented boot motivation gets everyone jumping.

For the very first turn, the Cluster Mine turned a profit! Don't break out the champagne bottles yet though, seeing as the profits were a measly 20 bucks. Still, more ore has been mined, and things seem rosy.

7 laborers sells/haul. Dig out AC-D14(plaform needed), AD15 and AC16.
Dig out Z-AA17 and then dig the remainer down AA

Mine the materials sorrounding AC-15, and the ones near the base of the hill. Use remaining digging power to mine straight down from AB.

The Foreman glances at the previous day's finance report within the comfort of her office.

Hrm.. Building the structures we need to move along these vertical shafts is going to end up costing us a lot of profit! Perhaps we need to take further advantage of horizontal movement until this area is so depleted that we have to move down..

From AD11, dig rightward until we reach AS11. Have the remaining 5 laborers haul the most valuable ores out.

Is there any reason for having more than one prospector?

Fire one prospector. We'll keep his drill though.

Right now? Not really. Later on you might want back-ups though.

Okay, so for now let's fire one prospector. We'll keep his drill though. I added that to the original action to avoid confusion.

EDIT: Can't wait for flooding and lava and cave monsters to come in.

Six squares along 23, platform AB14, staircase AC14-17 while grabbing AD14-17. Continue AA staircase to 23 and mine Y17. No ores taken out. Fire excess prospecting force.

In case anyone wonders, no, we don't need to waste mining power on taking ores out until we actually need money. And by then we might have better ores to spend our hauling on. vOv

When we actually do need money we simply put the entirety of our labourers to hauling and get a pretty much instant turn since the GM only needs to adjust for the fact we have no ores but loadsa dosh.

We also need more mining power, but I'll wait until glorious power tools are brought to us. Or smelting. Smelting would be nice.

We also need to go about mining in a less sloppy manner. The fewer platforms and stairs we use the better off we'll be in the long run.

Well, we could staircase AD now, but that's a whole two additional tiles. A whole two tiles! Wow.
