I'd consider bringing my honor, but it seems to be such a rare commodity around here that I'd probably get mugged for it before I even got to the tournament.  :P

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Why have a piece when you can have a whole cod? Not to cause injury, but to cause humiliation!

I'll second rope, nets, or other immobilizing or disabling tools, like glue or smoke bombs.

I'll second grappling hooks and hookshots, and throw in whips used as grappling hooks. As well as whips used in disarming, tripping, or other, less direct weapon capacities. For that matter, I'll mention that hookshots are even cooler when they work on enemies.

I'll second scouters.

From the hasn't yet been said category, I'll throw in second chance shields to buy you a hit or two before shattering, and some kind of magical regeneration/endurance/recovery trinket to help you outlast foes. I'll also throw in poisons for the other end of the same idea.

I'll add climbing shoes (or really all different sorts of shoes- somebody might want slippery shoes to slide around everywhere), climbing gloves, and other terrain navigation items that aren't quite as direct as just hookshotting your way around. I'd assume a gliding suit or slowfall umbrella would generally require a ringout to use anyway, but if not or if the stages will have heights the players can get to, why not.

I'll also add the dagger from Prince of Persia, not because I think a rewind dagger is likely to be balanced enough to work, but because it's awesome enough to mention anyway.
