So, can participants have armor? What kinds? And are sets strictly regulated and equal, or thematic?

Also, the idea of gladiatorial combat made me think of nets. Nets would be a pretty fun choice of weapon. Or porcelain jars filled with oil.

Since I haven't actually read/watched DBZ, it kinda reminded me of (the manga version of) Mahou Sensei Negima. 

Can't think of any other weapon categories off the top of my head, but I would totally participate in this completely hypothetical game.
