Enki just scoffs. After he leaves, he walks over to sit with Aoi.
"I hope I did not make matters worse."

With a heavy hand, Erden slammed the tome shut. "I will not continue this conversation further. If you had wished to end this situation earlier, you would have been wise to simply escort them off of the premises. They are leaving now, and such strong arm tactics would be grossly unnecessary."

"I am not allowed to do that unless violence occurs."

"You have no policies on harassment?" Erden asked.

Enki just scoffs. After he leaves, he walks over to sit with Aoi.
"I hope I did not make matters worse."

She's clearly nearly in tears, but she's holding out. She sighs, leaning into Enki.
"I hope so too, Enki-kun...I hope so."

"Generally the harasser get's hurt in some form before we need to do things about it."
Mr. Johnson thinks.
"Well, I know that her grandfather doesn't want this to happen, and that she's looking for an out. And that guy is definitely not a super anything. Well, a super dick maybe..."

Enki gives Aoi a hug. She seemed like she needed it.
"I'm sure we can find some sort of middle-ground that will work for both parties.

Aoi lets herself be hugged.

Enki breaks the hug, standing up.
"I will leave you for now. You may find me in the common room if I am needed. Goodbye for now, Aoi."
He bows, then begins to walk out.

Aoi...moves as if to stop him, but lets him go.

Mr. Johnson thinks.
"Well, I know that her grandfather doesn't want this to happen, and that she's looking for an out. And that guy is definitely not a super anything. Well, a super dick maybe..."

"Further reason not to harm him." Erden said as he rose from his chair. "Those with power have a responsibility not to use it against those who cannot hope to protect themselves. Even if they are what you call, a 'dick'."

He turned to leave, but first addressed his mentor in a quiet, measured tone. "Mr. Johnson, I take my leave of you. Save your efforts and let the girl solve this on her own. Only then can she achieve the full measure of her worth." Within moments, his huge strides took him outside the doorway and into the hallway beyond.

"Not everyone can be a mountain, Mr. Erden."
Kyle then walks over to Aoi.
"Do you want to check the job board?"

Enki doesn't notice Aoi's movement, and proceeds to go read in the common room.

Aoi chafed at being accused, even if unintentionally, of having not tried to solve her own problems. She thought carefully about what she had done to escape it.

She had; she'd pleaded with her parents, run away, and, unbeknownst to anyone, even her entering the school, all of it, was at least partially to run away from or postpone it.

Her grandfather, Misanori, was the only one who could stop this apart from her, but he and Aoi both knew they couldn't; their family needed it.


Running away wouldn't solve it; she would surely deprive her family by doing so.


Woe betide her if she hurt Akira, too.


She shook her head, muttering under her breath.

"If solving my own problems is how I prove my self-worth....then perhaps I am not at all worthy...if I cannot even save myself."

"If I remember correctly you have an advantage no one on your planet does. And two years to hone it into something no one on your planet will mess with."
Mr. Johnson is still standing there.
