Enki takes a seat somewhere, now inside the school. He starts writing in his small leatherbound notebook again.

lillith reappears from her room and wonders what she should be doing.

Noam... heads back to the academy, I guess. I dunno.

Erden was pacing. Initially the gardens had helped him a little bit to relax, but as time drew on, nerves got the better of him. The foreboding sense of anticipation was overwhelming. The last thing he wanted to do was to leave a bad impression of his skills during the test. Further, he wasn't rightfully certain just how far he could go.

Speaking to the earth is considered something sacred. When practicing Geomancy, one speaks to the earth and the earth responds in time. It wasn't a skill one simply practiced. It was a relationship. In that way, Earth-speak was something intangible. You cannot feel just the earth beneath your feet, but the earth inside of you. Emotions, whether positive or negative shapes the result. As such, Geomancy as a skill grew with one's level of maturity and the level mastery over one's "voice" when speaking to the earth. Knowing when to speak and when to stay silent was a practiced skill.

However, as Time was an enemy to the mountains, time was an enemy to Erden. Eventually, Erden had to leave as his anxiety grew too great. He couldn't focus on the task ahead without worrying himself. He wished the test would simply begin already so his worrying would cease.

More pacing. Erden should have left this garden a while ago. It simply wasn't a good idea to keep cooped up like this. Suddenly Amazon. Erden spotted her from a ways off and let off a small gasp of surprise. He considers briefly ducking behind one of the plants and waiting for her to leave. But this feeling was brief. It would have been severely unbecoming of him to do so. What kind of man would he be if he started running from these women again? His father would become red faced and ashamed of his antics and his mother would laugh heartily if they could see him now.

Indeed, Erden knew he could not keep living in fear of these women. No more fears. No more shame. He would approach her now and see what she was doing here. Yes. That is exactly what he would do.
