Oh... oh. Well, time to join in on the epilogue, then!
(I'll stick with the "Maurice wakes up on SSaint's ship" version and work up from there, since that's how events have apparently unfolded without his agency.)

But before that - sorry for the absence, and great thanks to everyone for this wonderful experience! I will always remember these lovely, Tinker-madness-, Mind-unravelling-horror-, Piecewise-snarkiness -filled days.

Spoiler: Dr. Maurice Sanctor's epilogue (click to show/hide)

As he wakes up on his successor's ship - not even on Hephaestus where he was to be exiled - Maurice has to face the truth of losing Hephaestus and the very universe to the Lurker. This makes him reconsider his recent life choices. Upon reaching the Paracelsus's Sword, he immediately sets out to marry Simus (he's made a ring for her ages ago - that prismatic one), and then undergoes several genetic modifications all focused on strengthening the control of his mind. He also sculpts a beautiful statue of his Bloody Mistress, as he once swore to, and puts it on display on the Sword.
((@PW: Crunched the math, with respeccing and stuff it gets to at least +6&dynbonus against mental invasions, more if the Doctor adds his own mods too. Just to give the scale.))

With that done, he petitions Steve for regaining possession of Timmy's Orb, and, if allowed, attempts to master its powers without losing self. If not allowed, he simply continues his days as a prominent scientist and Doctor's assistant.

If allowed and he survives it, and then not banned from following humanity in its exodus, he takes his place on the staff as a resident eldritch being, while still pursuing scientific interests. Later, he once again petitions to join the Board of Generals, if it still exists... with much less drama and conflict than the first time.

He eventually makes friends with Xan (whom he offers assistance with research and modifications) and even Steve Saint (despite having started initially as "just colleagues" and "allies of convenience"). He looks out for his old friends, especially Lyra and Lars, and tries to smooth out his relations with Miyamoto and Milno - but he never again goes back to his earlier deference to them, regardless of his new position.

He treats all surviving children from the Project Wunderkinder as his own, without discrimination, knowing that somewhere among them should be a child of his and Simus' heritage. He never deliberately seeks out which.

He'd probbably start up a shop in whatever universe he ended up in and quietly live out the rest of his days running a small machinery business.

Alright, lets do the epilogue then. Because as much as I like the players in ER, I really don't feel like running it as it used to be. I like having some crunch to push against. Lets me make threats that are threats without being stupid.

So, here's how we do epilogue. Either here or via PM just let me know what your character wants to do. Assume our plan of escaping into other universes worked.

Become a hard-light sculpture artist, eventually winning major awards.  Also, living comfortably but not ostenatiously.  Maybe he's friends with Lyra.  Maybe romantically involved, somehow.  He certainly doesn't want to just let her vanish into the shadows and be forgotten, though obviously he doesn't want to stop her from doing her thing either

Maybe he'll robotize.

Alternatively, successfully recovering the Deathcube and killing both Lurkers through a massive tide of drones of all sorts.

He seemingly vanishes one day. No one knows where he went, and no one would really care to look - he didn't make many friends before he left. Maybe one day, once he's grown old and hopefully wise, he'll come back, if he doesn't die first.

we're play testing the next version (or at least one of the possible versions) in a thread right here. So far, mechanically it's decent, though I'm on the fence about the strength and hp mechanic.

Whatever game comes, it will likely be done right here. (though pw does run other games in the standard rtd subforum)

I guess I haven't updated the other threads...

Past two weeks had been busy and hellish. I'm only now catching up to the subforum. I knew I'd probably be unable to respond as quickly as you'd like due to stuff happening so I never tried to join the new ER test. I had e-mail alerts on for my mission so I could at least write a quick response to that if necessary.

Alright, lets do the epilogue then. Because as much as I like the players in ER, I really don't feel like running it as it used to be. I like having some crunch to push against. Lets me make threats that are threats without being stupid.
