Wait, so you're gonna teleport yourself into the game and oust Saint to command yourself? ()
...No? PW said "Under sy's command". Saying that
I won't be a bad commander is therefore grammatically correct.
Either way, have you guys thought about how you're gonna organize this thing? You'll probably want to have a plan on how to get people into exploring quickly without being stupidly careless. To prevent people getting bored waiting forever or chaos/confusion making things difficult.
I haven't thought about it much; I was hoping PW's post on the subject would give us a bit more than it did.
How big are the teams going in? Can people just choose a universe and hop in, or will they be assigned?
I think we should do this in a mission-like format. People who want to explore a particular universe can set up an expedition, and anyone who wants to join can do so. I dislike assigning people to missions without asking.
What kind of gear do they get, something standard or what they want? Who processes those requests?
This is something I have trouble with, because technically we should be able to give infinite gear with no issue. I'm leaning towards "no free gear, unless something is specifically necessary for a mission". I suppose I'll handle gear requests, perhaps in tandem with PW.
Any sort of SOP on how to explore, or total freeform? A time frame they get on first time going in?
Hmm. We should probably make a simple SOP. I'll discuss that with Oz.
A limited time frame doesn't make much sense, considering the tech we have available. Its only purpose would be to hurry people up, and that can be done via other means.
Will comms be maintained, if yes how? Small EUE to teleport around messages?
Team gets a QEC, and a comms EUE rapidly transfers the linked QEC between their universe and another. Same as we've been doing. If the team lets their QEC get destroyed, that's their own fault, and will significantly increase their chances of death.
What about safety for the crew on Hep, any measures to prevent anything icky from coming back (either on a comms EUE or infected explorers)?
We've set up secondary EUE facilities in cavernverse, and maybe another few if PW gives us a timeskip. They come back to those facilities before the one in Hephaestus' system. The potential QEC infection can be solved by teleporting it a couple lightyears away from the origin point in a disposable universe (gooverse, perhaps?), while a small base station recieves the data. Another QEC probe can be rapidly transferred between that station and home. It's probably pointless to be that careful, though.
