I think it can reform, although I would imagine that having a personification of your subconscious get damaged won't be pleasant.

EDIT: So, Irony, what kind of breed do you want? Russian blue? Bengal? Sphinx? Chartreux? Maine Coon? Or maybe some kind of exotic cat, the kind of cat they'd have genemodded in the future to look utterly ridiculous like nyan cat a bit alien?
