Based on a quick Google search you need around 170,000 K for air to turn to plasma, but I have no idea if the composition of the atmosphere down there would be similar to air.

So clearly, you should throw in a microwave amp overload with the nuke just to make sure.

I'm stuck with a really simple assignment question... it involves interpolating *numbers* to find a "real" interest rate.

Smart Technologies’ $1,000 par value, 14-year bonds pay 9 percent interest annually. The bond is selling at $1,100. Your required rate of return is 10 percent.
a. Compute the bond’s expected rate of return.
b. Determine the value of the bond to you, given your required rate of return.
c. Should you purchase the bond?

Anyone remember what formula I'm supposed to use to find the expected rate of return?
