@Ozark's post in the M23 thread: Genemods on a UWM world would be very illegal. And the UWM cracks down on genehackers particularly harshly, since, you know, those guys are the ones trying to fuck around with the Altered virus strain. You would probably have needed to explicitly purchase and receive those genemods with IC actions, since there would probably have been rolls involved.

I mean, we were already dealing with the underground. And Ryan has a genemod, don't forget. He has the organic cam-eyes.

I hope we find some real candy in this clown car of a new universe. We... do have a CHA-build character with us, right? Someone who could feasably -not- fuck up a first contact?

Petra has CHA. And if Ozark's list gets approved, CHA stims.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think of that. Think I'll strike that item off for now.

we were dealing with the underground, true, but I think sword is right - it would have required a specific IC action - and it might have drawn the wrong attention, so Dester would likely not have risked it. I hadn't remembered the highly illegal nature of the genemods. Ryan got his from the ARM, who are a bit more flexible on tech involving the altered.

Also, we might be hopping to several universi, not just one - gotta shop around, right?

Vincent has Charisma also. ANd feel free to recommend some (within reason) changes to my list :P can't hurt to ask ... err, Well, I mean - worth the risk to ask, I think.

Ok, I hope my design works. if it does it'll be cool, if it doesn't it'll fail spectacularly

To be honest, something more than a sidearm might be nice to make better use of Petra's CON, but I'm not sure what more than a sidearm she could reasonably be expected to have. Also, what qualifies as "Medium" armor?

Also also, what are Crowdwire gloves?

they shoot out electrodes that shock people unconscious. If she felt like equipping a long gun during the troubles, that would be justification enough forhaving one, I think. Get a gauss gun or a laser or whatever. But, like you said, if she tried mostly to stay out of the fight, those would have been less likely. I'm sure we have something of a stockpile of them onship though, for the security forces. They did need to repel rioters and hold off hostile companies and governments for a while.

I see M24 is keeping up a nice ratio of one death per door entered.

now, I think my next project will be to find a way to modify the multi role weapon into http://www.swordsantiqueweapons.com/s589_full.html
thinking trigger on the grip so one finger can press the button and the ammo would go on the side of the grip. Make a fore grip like what is on great swords so that one can use their off hand to hold the sword and steady their aim. I think anything above a fleshy could be able to duel wield the things and still aim effectively. Anyone should be able to duel wield them.

Huh, MK1 suits used to be tough enough to protect from simple knives. Guess it's just bad luck for Leo that Hephaestus skimped on his suit.

Yeah, how good was the knife used on him? Or is spess magic at work?

The place we're in seems to have a somewhat cheaply rented euclidean geometry, to say the least.
I dunno. Surely there is a way to test how sharp a knife is.

Perhaps he'll do it for you.

While I have no idea about the durability of MCP-suits (should be largely the same, I think?..), I guess that was a combat knife. As in, implicitly using military-grade weapon materials, etc.

I also recall that simple melee weapons (and even smaller bullets from gunpowder weapons) couldn't penetrate Mk-I suits, but those same melee weapons made of 'advanced materials' (*** if I know what that means, but I strongly remember that bit) could penetrate Mk-I fairly easily.
Or, he rolled good on the [Str] roll.

TLDR:
0-token knife can't melt steel beams pierce a MK1 suit, even if its a combat knife.
High tech knife that can pierce MK1 costs 1-2 tokens.

But that was 3 years ago and we use entirely different suits now and there's space magic fuckery involved so who even knows?

He also rolled a 1 on his dodge attempt.

Not saying thats the only reason but it didn't help.
