@Comrade_P: You know, you could probably buy yourself a suit of Sharkmist for the same money as a CD longcoat (it's already prototyped, so I think AM would be fine with 'conjuring' it). Or hell, just buy the cam-eyes and hope for the best.
Sharkmist would be great. If I could have eye prosthetics and this, that would probably be enough for me, I would save myself two tokens.
Sharksuits are prototype gear I think, and we had a stock of 2. I know at least one was used, but I cant remember if the other one was handed out
Three sharksuits were shipped, and all were taken for testing.
Aaaand they are all taken. Nevermind then.
Comrade P., don't give up that easily!
Pfft, yes, those three are taken! But hey, what did I suggest in the first place? Asking the AM for it. Specifically because she already conjures most of our equipment on the Sword anyway - and the sharksuit schematics/production details are all figured out by this moment, as their prototypes exist.
(Which is the same for any 'prototype' equipment currently prototyped-but-not-supplied, anyway - MCP-II someone purchased earlier also came from thin air apparently (the 'regular' prototypes were all on the mission already) and no one is bothered by that. That's the great benefit for us ordinary 'Corpspeople having the AM on board of the Sword - she can help with exceptions, and getting pretty much finished equipment for its token price just a mission ahead of it being stocked and supplied en masse is one good exception we can thank her for.)
In short: go ask the AM regardless. If she declines - well, you can get your soon-to-be-obsolete CD longcoat; but I'd bet she (or Piecewise, for that matter) wouldn't even notice any problem with that as long as the schematics and production processes are worked out (read: item in question approved, prototyped) and the price is known.
And even if the schematics/processes had not yet been worked out... she might still have supplied one with the requested item, if only at a higher price (see: old-style prototyping).
