Woohoo! I unchained an avatar of war!

You got lucky, apparently aos didn't roll for initiative, but just took turns in order. Had an action that should have... Seriously impeded a lot of actions. You can almost say you got saved by timezones being a thing!

Yeah, but it really showcases how massively overpowered space magic is. Thirty tokens of avatar + gods know how many tokens of upgrades + superhuman director of an entire wing of an interstellar rebellion taken out by 4 tokens of field manip.

A bit surprised Miyamoto went for an explosive instead of a shield automanipulator. Then again, he probably didn't knew people could re spawn, so taking them all (or at least many) out at once with a powerful alpha strike would be better.

I guess the big thing about amp and Manip users is the staying power, in pretty much every situation, they can wreck shit but as long as you keep throwing small groups that require Spess Majiks (Like when the planet sent off those 'splody spikes), though they really do shine against any singular enemy that isn't resistant to whatever your amp uses.

Avatars are only 30 tokens now?  I suppose everything needs to be cheaper..  for some reason.

Avatars have been 30 tokens for quite some time, I believe... It's one of the reasons it felt as a next logical step after battlesuits (20 tokens back then) and it is still the primary example of token non-linear wealth progression (i.e., 30 tokens can buy you much, much, much, much, much more than, say, 6+6+6+6+6 tokens, spread in time).

Hey Pee Dub, I'm a bit late but you should definitely play LAPD Futurecop and Tombi, both on PS1.
Or No One Can Stop Mr. Domino! Man, there were so many weird-ass PS1 games. Good times.

If you wanna up their price, I'd be ok with that, we could work out some way to make up the difference.

Those things are really expensive for very limited uses. I knew they could respawn (though you're right about wanting a good initial strike) but I was blindsided by the order of actions going in post order in a pvp environment, rather than some sort of dice roll. The action I had should've blocked it, but such plans do bank on, well, the action going through.

I kinda feel ER isn't very well built for facing off against powerful singular enemies with a PvE setup, it just means less dice rolls for the singular dude and as such, lower chance of doing anything, as well as the fact that as long as everyone has at least a 1+ in their specialisation then everyone else can just dog-pile the other dude.

While I would agree from purely in-universe point of view, (uh oh... this day came) from the balance standpoint 50 tokens is just exorbitant. It's ten regular missions of payment, or five of exceptional payment - and that's without spending tokens on anything else at all. I can't even name a character who'd be able to shell out this much at any given time - perhaps one of the best Doctor's creations, "overpowered" as they are by the nature of their new bodies and in practically no need of tokens. Or Lars back when Maurice was preparing to die :P

Or twenty-five missions at the level of payout I got.  ;-)

ten tokens isn't what it used to be, and five tokens is more or less the effective minimum, with more usual amount being more than 10 these days.  You could call it exceptional, but the pay is really good these days.  You could have a mission failure, but that doesn't seem to happen anymore, either, plus reselling gear is cheap and easy to do.  50 tokens would be more like five missions, and it would keep avatars exceptional, rather than standard issue gear.

Of course, you probably need them to be standard issue gear so you can curbstomp missions even more.

Dev is just jelly cause he didn't get to strap pounds of metal to his cyberwang. So jelly.

Anyways, seeing as how much gear you get on top of the suit, I'd say 40 or 50 (or something inbetween) would be reasonable from an in game perspective.
