20? | Assault suit
Stat restriction: None?
Special: Requires MMI implant. Mobility variant available.
Description: You may have heard of Battlesuits, the meters tall mecha that turn their pilots into walking tanks. The Assaultsuit is a derivation of that design, which improves on nearly all aspects; It has superior armor that can resist weapons which would normally destroy a battlesuit in one shot, most of the vulnerabilities of the battlesuit have been removed from the design, and it's far smaller to boot- The assaultsuit can fit through large doors.
In addition, while the battlesuit has a tiny cockpit crammed with monitors, and requires an exceptionally skilled pilot, the assaultsuit simply jacks into the user's MMI implant, allowing it to literally become an extension of the pilot's body.
I put question marks after the price and stat requirement because PW never answered my questions. I'm just guessing.
The mobility variant, which is what I wanted sent, has half the armor but can fly. Also, note that the person getting this will need to have one of the MMI implants that's also being prototyped.
EDIT:Looked it up, Unholy_Pariah, kj1225, and renegade lobster all volunteered for an MMI. So I guess one of them gets the assaultsuit, unless Radio decides to give the MMI to someone else. I will enjoy watching him make that decision.
18? | Heavy Robotic Body
Stat restriction: None.
Special: Second variant available, with different armor.
Description:Assaultsuits, the walking tanks that dominate our battlefields, are very big. Much like ancient tanks, this size limits their ability to fight effectively in urban areas, and they're often vulnerable to infantry with heavy weapons. The Heavy Robotic Body, however, minimizes the size by stripping away most of the armor, and stripping away your massive body. Since it only needs your brain, it's only somewhat bigger than a large man, and fully capable of fighting room-to-room in a building, where heavy weapons are cumbersome and difficult to use. Even better, the reduced size made mobility rockets affordable- this body can fly under it's own power.
Note that the armor is still enough to resist a couple of shots from heavy weapons, and capable of resisting massive amounts of small-arms fire, but it does have less armor than an assaultsuit. You are not invincible.
IIRC, I only sent two HRBs- one with three layers of battlesuit plate (better against sustained small arms of multiple types), and one with hex composite armor (Better against extremely powerful single strikes.)
If you need the full list of features, I can go digging through my post history to find them.
