It's not like the survival chances are any higher for the other options. Plus hopefully if a bit falls off, it could be used to make thermal weapons or something.

And then they wake up in a post apocalyptic wasteland that has just suffered a second apocalypse and look around, wondering what happened. We should get a science team to study the players sometime. They can bend reality based on luck and survive seemingly everything if they fall comatose.
