I also think I'll add what buttons I've mapped on the Deathcube to aid in future science-y stuff, as well as some more notes on the layout. If there's any interest in playing with the Cube, I can try to work out a semi-formal testing guide thing (what I'd like you to not do, how you could be rewarded for valuable discoveries, etc). Just let me know!

Right now, it appears the Deathcube only kills you if you tell it to do so.  Timmy's Sphere killed you if you looked at it funny.

Yeah, the first person that used it had pretty bad luck. They found the button that means "Delete" or "Destroy" or "Melt" or somethin'. It's really not that dangerous to work with, depending on what combinations you are testing.

Question: Who were the first convicts to be employed as the HMRC? I don't mean secret knowledge like any of the important NPCs or something - just juicy gossip about the very first batch of the poor idiots in space. The first batch to be thawed and fed into the meatgrinder, not just be recruited and put into stasis for later use.

Most of them were Altered war deserters, Prisoners from worlds the UWM had to bring under control, vagabonds, homeless, drifters, mental patients, and anyone that might make a good candidate. It was essentially anyone the HMRC could round up from the planets they were on at the time; they dredged the prisons for anyone they could get.
