They have engineering courses at school now? In my day it was all about putting paper in front of kids that wanted to change the world (or make deathrays, either one was good for entry qualifications), teaching them how to isometrically project shit, and teachers putting up with the "Why the fuck am I doing this shit? I have AutoCAD 2.0." comments.

I mean, it was called graphic design. It was run by the metal shop and the maths teacher. Engineering it wasn't.

Engineering Graphics (or, how to use CAD), engineering programming (how to use Matlab to do complicated math for you), and a few others. Otherwise, it's mostly math classes, thermodynamics, materials sciences, and all that fun stuff (may or may not be being sarcastic with that, depending on the class).

I write poetry
Only when hiding in my
Refridgerator.

Alternatively,

I hate poetry
I will hide it's corpse in my
Refridgerator

...Actually, haikus are pretty fun.

Impossible math,
Burning my whole mind and body,
Fuck you too, Stacy

What the hell is this?
A strange scene of wasted flesh!
Uncreative Xan.

I could get a lot of mileage just from "What the hell is this?", but I'll stop now.

There once was a thug from Hephaestus
Who was often buried in detritus
He set out with glee
To see an anomaly
Now to see him you need asbestos

@Dumbo. I strongly look at my bay12 time. This is just when I left myself logged in or was drunk and flicked through thread pages every ten minutes or so, isn't it?
37 days, 19 hours and 33 minutes.

I regret nothing.....

@ Pyro. Ooohhh. Matlab. It was my proudest moment when a maths professor gave me a copy of that. He knew me when I was a kid. I was such a bright young scamp back then. I was a cleaner at a university when he gave it to me. I'm still a cleaner now (but at a truck-stop service station). They really do teach kids stuff in school these days.

Ughhh.... Matlab...

As someone who is *not* a math major, but a comp sci major... I can't think of something more torturous than writing something in matlab. Just... ugh.

They still taught me to use it, though. In my basic calculus series too.

I have to learn it as an engineer, and while it can be painful sometimes (low-level file I/O can be a pain), it's not too bad. Makes me want to take more comp sci courses, though.

Update:
Japanese Oral exam passed with 96% and only slight tentacle...shenanigans.  This weekend I shall bury myself in calculus and attempt to remember a semester worth of stuff seemingly useless for my future.

Math final on monday, Japanese written and listening on tuesday.

Things should go back to normal operation on Wednesday.

While I'm gone, think about what you guys want for Christmas.
