In my day it was all about putting paper in front of kids that wanted to change the world (or make deathrays, either one was good for entry qualifications), teaching them how to isometrically project shit, and teachers putting up with the "Why the fuck am I doing this shit? I have AutoCAD 2.0." comments.

I mean, it was called graphic design. It was run by the metal shop and the maths teacher. Engineering it wasn't.
