Lemme put it this way - Xan's always had a fundamentally ambitious personality. The reason he asked for his enhancements in the first place was because by his logic, it would make him fundamentally superior to everything composed of flesh.
Now he's seen some things that are far beyond him at the moment. Now he has a goal.
