I'm guessing that when it does happen, it will be quite an electrifying experience.

Would it be possible for you to disclose your theory? Because I cannot see the damned second meaning (even with the first not fully proved) to the shapes. Hmmm. Age of the artifact, perhaps?
Also, what is your stance on circles in the overall shapes system? Mathematician in me screams at placing them below triangles for 'not having enough sides'.

As for myself, for some time I've been following a theory that it is the line that determines the fuck-up/user danger potential, with vertical lines being just short of actively malicious artifacts, horizontal ones being mostly benevolent or at least not too dangerous to the user, and diagonal ones being somewhere in the middle, denoting potentially dangerous artifacts, which are, however, not actively harmful to the user by design, only by mistake and misuse. One of the reasons I am still hesitant to check the contents of the Bag, by the way.
No line at all might mean absolutely safe ones, though the evidence is slim; perhaps they are also often somewhat stunted in power compared to the three line-bearing types. Again, not enough evidence.

Remember, I already know the answers - I can't outright tell you. But I can say, your line theory comes close to the second side meaning - but it's a simple mathematical principle, and not the pure number. And malevolence has nothing to do with it.

(Hint: The crystal solution only crystallizes when subjected to electrical current. )

Execute plan as before, but utilize suit's power supply as a source of electric current to obtain crystals as step 4 instead of what's already there.

Then accept rope and lead the way.

Okay, you probably already know this, but as the designer of the weapon I feel obligated to warn you that this is a very bad idea.  Those rounds are highly explosive when electrified, and they fragment into electrified shrapnel; nine rounds would easily blow your chest open.  You're using sixty, with no real armor, at a very short range.  Worse, unless you have a cable of some form, you have your head right next to them, because the headlamps are the external power outlet.

Also, although you probably don't care, if you're lucky enough that the armor piercing IED doesn't blow up in your face, the person you sell it to will probably not be so lucky.

Lastly, that is a big crystal you're making.  A quick calculation, mostly from memory, says that it'll be at least 452 inches3, or nearly two gallons.  And it's highly explosive.

Afaik there won't even be a crystal for more than a moment before violently releasing energy. I think he got it confused with the crystalline projector, which does leave solid nonvolatiles which are shiny and neat.

Ah, I see!

Well, in the interests of not blowing my own head off just yet, I suppose I'll adjust this plan. Though I could have sworn they were piezoelectric shards - as in, you actually need to exert some pressure on them to get an effect.

You are correct. They explode and release their energy when broken. Problem is, we don't know how easily they break. So it's all left on the dice and the piecewise.

Sounds like it's time for a VR stress test!

Though, now that I think about it, a real-life stress test could be that much more valuable. And I do have a backup character almost ready to go, one that I feel much more enthused about trying!

As a side note, I bequeath whatever equipment and tokens the Chief has to Sambo in the event of her permanent death, since he seems like the best fellow to use the Testament, the sniper rifle and the extra token (to say nothing of the moss) as responsibly as can be expected.

Well, assuming it's an Aux + Dex roll, you should be fine if you don't overshoot Aux. Even if you jam a round in your suit, as long as you don't get End:1 you'll just be injured by shrapnel and electricity and be shipped back to the Sword. Maybe if you're lucky, it'll be something a competent medic might be able to fix. But if you overshoot or somehow break the rifle...

I saw it. Don't think I didn't. A Sex roll is the best roll.

Not if you overshoot Aux.
I have no idea what you're talking about. My phone certainly did not cause any embarrassing spelling mistakes with strange implications by autocorrecting Dex.

So, the generator. Enough to power some cutting lasers? I'm trying to make a gatling laser cannon.
Meet up with the main group, set the raduga to wide angle microwave.

If you manage to make a man portable gasoline generator powered laser gatling gun you'll be a hero to all mechanics for all time and should receive the MaCGyver medal first class for your services.
