Probably going to change my halberd design to be more aimed towards mass production. Probably have one or two different variants to choose from as well.

There's a few exceptions; both the HGC and HEP remove one layer of armor only
Just wanted to remind you that that is the case for the Solid Metal rounds, which are NOT standard. The standard rounds are Nuclear. Furthermore, piecewise seemed willing to allow me to exchange the standard Nuclear rounds with another set of equally priced rounds when buying it. So the Heavy Gauss Cannon will usually do much better against a battlesuit, assuming the user is firing Armour Piercing or some other powerful shell, which is very likely. Generally it is good to remember that the Heavy Gauss Cannon is more of a mortar or missile launcher equivalent than a pure combat weapon.

@Piecewise ... I see. This system has its merits, though certainly somewhat killing the old theme of 'semi-useless people tagging along and fooling around'. Not sure whether I should lament that. :P

@syvarris Actually, what you are suggesting, is almost exactly Sir Honey Badger's MkIII configuration, down to personal Avatar cloak  ;D
Replacing squishy human insides with a braincase and a robotic platform might have its merits, but in the end human body is actually quite capable on its own (especially when hiding behind a nigh-impenetrable shell) and all the robotic parts would do just replace the same muscles and bones. Other than potentially freeing up some space for additional systems (which Radio's design wanted to strip down to bare minimum rather than stuffing more things in), it would bear little use, I'm afraid.
Now, if there was a better Mind-Machine Interface of some sort, which would allow better control of the suit (and additional systems, independent targeting, et cetera, et cetera), the idea would be quite and quite more interesting, but so far we haven't seen one advanced enough (barring the Avatar of War one, perhaps).

@Paris
Yes, that's with full metal rounds, rather than nuclear, but I'd think that's what you have to worry about.  Nuclear rounds, if they're used at a safe distance, are gonna be hard to get a direct hit with.  If used at close range, they'll hurt the user too.

Now, if five layers of armor is able to deal with a nuke round going off twenty meters away, and two layers isn't, that's a point against my idea.  However, I think the HGC is intended more for use as artillery, for killing groups of civvies, rather than taking out Battlesuits.  I wouldn't be surprised if two layers of armor can tank a nearby nuke.

Also, what, AP rounds?  The basic round is solid metal.  What would an AP round be?  Mythril penetrator core?  Kinetic amp tip?

@Nik

I think you got confused there.  I'm not saying to shove a robot body in there, I'm sayig to only shove the braincase in there, and directly connect it to the battlesuit's stuff, so the battlesuit literally becomes your body.  That way, there doesn't need to be room for all those squishy useless things like lungs and legs, and it doesn't need a cockpit with keyboards and everything.  Just a connection to your brain.

And I think you underestimate how good our Man-Machine interfaces already are.  Jim could play some Mario game entirely inside his head, as well as Flint who had lots of monitors and keyboards.  I think Jim might have actually had an advantage.  Beyond that, Saint already programs stuff using nothing more than his braincase thoughts- his tablet's basically just extra memory and proccessing power.  Lots of people send complex text and voice messages with nothing but a thought.  Controlling limbs and a few binary switches shouldn't be difficult.

And yes, it is kind of a larger version of Milno's suit.  Primary differences are that it's cheaper, better armored, and uses actual fully steel robotic limbs instead of flesh.  Also, instead of operating a bunch of complex functions with your tounge and chin, you can operate them with a mere thought.

AP rounds. Good enough to penetrate and completely disable a battlesuit in one well placed shot. You can trade the standard nuke rounds for AP rounds.

I've recharged it several times during the year long mission. How fast can it be recharged with a 1 token generator?

What's the price of those nuclear gauss cannon rounds, grav-shells and some kind of armor piercing round that could penetrate a battlesuit with a good hit and burn its insides with explosion or incendiary (like modern anti tank rounds)? For that matter, how does a standard Gauss cannon shot fare against a standard battlesuit?

Also, check that LESHO rifle. Does it fire standard Gauss cannon or Gauss rifle ammo? If not, could it fire ammo other than nuclear, like those grav-shells or standard chunks of metal?
1.Pretty damn slow, but assuming you don't use it much, that would work
2.The nuclear tipped rounds are standard, so they're the set ammo price in the armory list. Normal shells are half. Grav-shells are twice as much, if not more. Armor piercing would probably be around the same.
3.It fires it's own ammo, but yeah, it can fire different shells, for sure.

EDIT: Found that out when I was considering buying one as an Anti-battlesuit weapon that could be used in other more powerful or less powerful ways. One of the things I was considering was making a multi-magazine, a revolver-like magazine with a grav-shell, an AP round and an incendiary or chemical round, as a sort of multi-grenade launcher where you could choose what to fire in each situation. Really shows how the multiple ammo types add to the versatility and power of the weapon.

EDIT EDIT: Now that I think about it, Simus should really add Gravitic Distortion Grenades to her grenade launcher. Perfect for taking down hard targets like avatars of war or bunkers while not having a blast range as suicidally large as a nuclear explosion.

@Syvarris Well, it's less of me underestimating our Mind-Machine Interface, and more Piecewise giving me that impression :P
Ah, I think I get it now. Yes, I know that somehow robo-people manage to do a lot of stuff operating entirely by thoughts, and receive a lot of info without 'human' senses, but when I tried to research into communicating with a computer, Piecewise outright said it being impossible (barring the Aux genemodification, and then you just turn into a computer yourself). Guess there is a fine line between the two.

@Nikitian: Do you remember Lukas? He was only a brain inside complex fighting robot and could control it with thought. Syvarris is basically saying to take Lukas and make him smaller so that he can fit through large doors. And make him more versatile (more modifications/equipment possible).

@Paris

You kinda loaded that question to PW, and made it a very broad question at the same time.  He often glosses over stuff when that's done, and might have been talking about an AP shell that'd go through Milnoplate, but not a full BS.  But hey, if a HGC can fire either rounds that'll break one layer, or go through all of them, that supports my idea- it adds the HGC to the "one hit kill" category, so mobility and a small target is preferable to armor.

And yeah, It's like a mini-Lukas.  He had heavy massive cheap armor though, rather than BS plate.  And wasn't highly mobile.  And had a much larger armory- I agree with Radio, integrating weapons is a bad idea.

I could let you. But if you do so, you'd have to become part of the black ops group indefinitely. And you would, of course, be sworn to secrecy. Loose lips sink ships, my dear, and while the black ops will be involved with many secrets, they're not the kind of thing I want out in the general population. They, the general soldier, I mean, is far too easy going. They would probably talk about it while out on a mission in front of who knows who. And then we'd have no secrets at all.
if that is the standard, then Lyra = best black ops soldier. :3

Until the UWM send their kitten commandos to capture and interrogate you.

Except it's us who keep the genetic modification master on the retinue.
Now we absolutely have to make kitten commandos to infiltrate UWM settlements everywhere! Kittens are adorable, cats adopt people galaxy-wide, and nobody will expect their cute little hairy furball to be a sleeping agent of the ARM!

Guys, you're geniuses! We must contact our mighty generals and inform them of this brilliant plan ASAP! :P

So using the goop thrower from the APC makes me think of rally x, but more deadly to the cars chasing us.
