You wouldn't gain anything relevant to the argument itself, but you would gain some power over me for use in the future, because I would like you slightly more.  A sycophant has influence over the narcissist that he follows.

I don't logically think you're trying to manipulate me, it's just my natural assumption.  I tend to assume the worst in people.
Me, a sycophant? Why you shameless brigand you!

Anyways, nah, it was because I also have had considerations like those myself. Stuff like 'that doesn't make sense, or x should be musch more complicated in real life, but let's just ignore that for the sake of the game'.

Oh, something I've been wondering since I started reading Ignition

Where did you get it? Every copy I've seen for sale is absurdly expensive, and I have yet to find an online version.

Also (you should get this, if nobody else does): Dimethyl Mercury.

Someone in the plug.dj linked it.

And no, I don't get it.  I've only gotten a little over halfway through the book, so that's probably why.  The guy on plug.dj did mention a mercury rocket though, and that sounds like a horrible idea.

Towards the bottom of page 177, and the beginning of 178.

To elaborate on why the supplier was horrified, consider that 0.1mL is considered a severely toxic dose (by the OSHA), and said dose can pass through most lab-grade protective gloves (and skin, of course) with ease.

And they were considering using the stuff as rocket fuel. They ended up just spraying pure mercury into the combustion chamber as propellant with other fuels.

The thing Mesk and Maurice got is not needing to roll for simple medical actions. They still need to roll for more complex stuff, like treating a more serious injury.
However, Mesk has a decompensator (I think) and a +2 in medical so the end result is that he almost always gets 4s and 5s.

I'm not entirely sure about Mesk, because he might have a different degree of perfect skill, but I know Nikitian asked how much was actually covered by it.  IIRC, PW said that any and all mundane injuries were covered by it, but not weird stuff like fixing rapidly growing tentacles or designing a new lifeform.  Beyond that, he just fixed the guy that broke both legs with no roll, and I don't think Jobasio is that bad.

So Jobasio should be perfectly safe.

Also, he effectively does not have a decomp right now, because the wiki says so, and PW is using the wiki while waiting on Pyro.  Also I don't remember him ever getting one.

Is it too soon to start suggesting that we grind up a few Grate corpses and try to make a manipulator using them?

I believe it's been suggested before.

Well, maybe piecewise just hid the rolls. Perhaps to keep something that will take effect later a secret. Like Mesk secretly pumping them full of experimental drugs or aphrodisiacs.[/joking]

I've always assumed that the perfect roll applies if he's not under fire or some similar high-stress situation.  The ability to "Take 20" if you will.

Man, it's interesting to see what happens when non-standard space magic is used by enemies as well.
