@syv: you basically raise a lot of the same points as I did, so I think you are on board with my general analysis of tanks and battlesuits and their respective roles? And if pw confirms on my next turn for tinker that making them would make sense, would that be enough to overrule you last concern? (which, by the way, was gloriously munchkiny and powergamey, congratulations  :P )

In case of doubts about efficiency, people could try VR simulations to design and test armored vehicles and check a VR-fied GM opinion on the matter. That'd probably be of assistance.

Yeah, referring to word of god is often best in these theoretical discussions, which is why I'm just asking pw. I wanted to lead in to it more smoothly, but eh, got overruled by the Argument Squad.

"Activities"? Sounds exciting!
Or terrifying, depending on whether said people are related to PW and how much of the madness is hereditary...

Yea, I more or less agree with you.  I'm not 100% certain, because I just read over the argument quickly, but nothing obviously wrong jumped out or anything.

As far as PW's answer, it may or may not convince me.  It mostly depends on how he answers it- sometimes he gives a very well-thought out and detailed response, sometimes he says 'yeah sure, why not.'

Also, that last part just makes me feel like you're manipulating me.  Maybe it's because I'm still in argue mode.

Oh, and as mentioned before, a tank's better at dodging than a battlesuit.  A mobility battlesuit is better than either though, and is pretty much just as resistant to infantry level weapons.  maybe someone should design a mobility battlesuit that trades size and armor for even more mobility, while retaining juuust enough armor to resist infantry. >.>
So basically Milno's MKIII?

Baby Xan :D

Shouldn't old Xan be put on the wall of remembrance, because he died and the new Xan is a different character with a new character sheet and personality and stuff. Also I want the satisfaction of seeing that OP teamkiller officially dead.

Well, slightly different personality - while the original Xan grew up among corpses and isolation, and his new Xan has those memories, his 'first' memories are of waking up from a long sleep and such. He won't end up nearly so fucked up.
Plus NuXan is even more min maxed than the original.

Interesting to see how, according to the new sheet and the skill/stat allocation, Xan has learned exactly nothing from his previous misadventures.

Oh, syvarris buddy, don't worry.

I am always manipulating you...

Ahem, ominous implications aside, why would I even want to do that? We already agree, so what do I even stand to gain here? And if word of god says "you are right, but I don't feel like simulating that" then of course the discussion ends right there.

A big reason I originally wanted to lead into those particular questions for pw in tinker thread slowly was to avoid getting a short or vague answer. We'll see what we get.

EDIT: for those involved: TEN HAS UPDATED. HOP TO IT!

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

On tanks: I'd say if it was fun, then go for it. Nothing else matters in a game than if it was fun for everyone(including the GM). Even if you're bringing a frigging tank into an urban area, if you guys have fun doing it, the do it(though you'd have to live with the consequences, of course!)

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Rule 0 of paranoia, right there. Still very fitting for ER in a black humour-y way I must say.
