Fun-time offtopic question:
If ER was to be made into a movie and/or television series, who would y'all pick as actors for each of the characters?
I can probably count all the actors/actresses I know both the names and some of the roles they've played on my fingers.
Which would work better as a video game of ER, a first person shooter? Or a squad command game?
This one, I can answer.
Hm. Probably an FPS squad co-op game. Too chaotic for a squad command game.

This is a roguelike made a few years ago that was somewhat of an inspiration for ER. It's fairly unknown, but perhaps you'll see some similarities.
Neat. I'll look into it. After all, if it inspired ER, it probably isn't harboring viruses.
I'd say a custom SS13 map could work. A small spaceship (the lobby of sorts) for people to dick around, actual missions require one to board a shuttle to be shot of at the mission (on another Z level). Admin would run the mission and play as Steve, several fun options possible (derelict spaceship investigation, civilian rescue, artifact retrieval, exploring alien ruins, ...). Biggest trouble would be making the maps, obviously, but apart from the robust combat system, I think SS13 would accommodate an ER style game quite well.
You'd also need to mod in anomalies and ER-style space magic.
I was bored last summer so I wrote a small script of the first mission of ER as part of a TV series just for fun. I might post it when I get back to my PC if I find the courage to do so.
Was it like an episode or more like a whole season?
I think we should all answer TCM's question.
Also Grate is Jake Lloyd circa Phantom Menace so he's extra-punchable.
YES
Why does everyone want to punch my characters?
(And don't blame the kid, blame the people who made the plot.)
Who would play the crew of the Sword?
The crew? Do you mean Doc, Nyars, &co, or do you mean the nameless extras who keep the ship from exploding?
