I think Simus' stat point distribution has now also become skewed in favor of using it as well.

GWG, if you don't want it, there are several of us interested in its use as a power source. I'm interested in it for use upgrading my "blue" floating fireball system design. With a power source like that I could greatly extend its range and duration.

I'm not sure if we can.

If we can is something I've been trying to find out, but piecewise either didn't notice or is ignoring all my attempts to figure out.

Can you blame me for skewing the stat distribution? The thing is probably one of, if not the, best Nyars items anyone has gotten. Even better is the fact I got it for free from PW simply for having the correct post number.

Indeed, if it keeps being skewed (which it will be for some levelups, though not necessarily all of them), I'll need a decomp soon, even though the overshot effects aren't that bad.

But once I do... Hehehehe.

Of course not, I was simply noting yet another reason why you won't hand it over. After all, if you simply give it away, you lose the raison d'etre for the points in WILL.

I don't see Thomas attached to a team on the wikia. Am I mistaken, or what?
It's because you never volunteered.
Radio Controlled is away right now, but we could probably sneak you into a team somewhere and pm him. Maybe create team "Horny Toad" for Thomas and any other stragglers. Horny toad is actually a lizard that squirts blood out of its eyes. Seems appropriate for a sniper.

Pyro:  You may have missed it, but I'm interested in the specs/costs of your launcher.  What do the cheap grenades cost?

Unknown. The first set were packaged with the prototype, in parts. The next 5 were complete, and free.

However, I might be able make a reasonable estimate, though, since tokens are a medium of trust and not based of off how cheap the item is resource-wise, it might be entirely inaccurate... say, 3 tokens for the launcher itself, comes with 3 grenades of any variety that's publicly available (no ClF3 grenades for you). 2 tokens for a pack of 5 grenades, again, any public variety. PW might have it higher simply by virtue that these things can turn good chunks of entire buildings to rubble, if you do it right wrong (it was an overshot. A very useful overshot).
(( Maurice was able to buy a pack of 3 ClF3 grenades for 2 tokens from the AM, but I didn't know at the time they weren't publicly available...

@GWG You might want to pair up that artifact of yours with the crystalline projector/crystals themselves and see if you can create something interesting out of them. Also, somewhere deep in the threads it was once stated by Steve that the crystals are minorly psychic, so that might be the key to 'wiring up' the generator to anything.
Actually, there's also the HEP based on an artifact from that mission, so you might look into wiring the power source of yours to it. If you need tokens for those experiments, Maurice can lend you a few, especially after the payday/mission end, as he is quite interested in that line of research as well.))

"You could throw it at people."
"It cost me five tokens!  No way I'm going to risk it!"

I'll offer you two tokens for it, IF I survive hephaestus and get the three I'm spending on an emergency kit back.

Anyone have a crystalline projector they want to lend Grate?

The thing is...I'm sure it has use. And a one-shot weapon that barely does anything if it hits (and that's optimistic) is...kinda stupid.
I'd consider your offer, but A. I'm sure I'll find a use for it and B. you kinda made a blunder there.

The what?
The HEP, aka the High Energy Projector, aka the weapon derived from that little pyramid thing that Milno used to blast holes in the building during the first mission, and that later pureed his arm.

Last ditch defense. If something tries to eat you, use that to make it throw you up.
I can't even touch it without hallucinating. And the hallucinations probably don't get better the longer you touch it...
When something is in the process of eating you, I don't think getting it to touch the thing would be such a big problem.

Worst come to worst, use it for a drinking game. Touch the alien thing or drink a shot of HMRC standard. In game terms, it would be Will rolls VS End rolls, with the added bonus that failing End rolls would make failing Will rolls easier.
When something eats Grate, but swallows him whole instead of chewing, he'll just die and respawn in his stomach. Over and over again. Huh, that's a method of murder we haven't tried yet: killing stuff through indigestion.

Overall, I'm highly disappointed with what I got. Neat, it's from an old mission, but 5 tokens could have gotten me cameyes, or a Mk. II suit, or a tesla saber, or a crystalline projector. Previous Nyars medium boxes...the wiki's acting up, but I'm damn sure they were more than a some-assembly-required short-range hallucination inducer. I think I got gipped, unless there's some hidden use I can't see.
Tell me, were you using some mobile device when it borked up?

Quote
I'm actually considering buying that alien power source in case it's the same as back then. Though Milno snagged it during the first mission, my intentions are far from making a keychain out of it to hang it on my suit's belt as a nostalgic trinket. In case there's a good way to harness that thing's energy, I think it's in fact one of the most efficient - and less likely to kill you - artifacts. At the very least I bet it's far more powerful than any 5 token generator you could buy.
Yep, linking this to a cutting laser or AoW Heavy Laser will give you heavy firepower with a one-time investment.

I'd really prefer not to create new teams, too confusing (and said new team would be understrength compared to other teams).

Can Simus move around while phased? I know she doesn't fall through the floor (somehow) but not sure if you can walk without interaction with your surroundings.

Well, the phasing only lasts a moment or two (or, at least, while there is still danger) when automatic. I have some manual control, and I can move with it - I tried poking a finger through a wall (didn't work, it stopped halfway through) back when I first got it, so I was either able to move while phased or I was able to move a part of me that was phased.
