Or is it fine as you know that others will catch up one day, and you're just staying ahead of the curve?

There was one time, back on the planetoid, when I was seriously considering secretly modifying Gilgamesh to have Rocket Punch capability. A series of unfortunate events thwarted that, of course, but it could've been fun.

Looking at what is going on with M18 currently, I'd say it is one more reason to have certain 'advisors'/'supervisors' to oversee all missions, as I suggested. Particularly with Steve orchestrating missions like these, with no defined leadership beforehand, so far no one is up to address mission plan as a whole and make necessary adjustments and request supplies. That is why, perhaps, such positions are not only optional and volunteer-based, but perhaps even necessary. Of course, that is if we seek competence through organisation and preparation.

I kinda thought that on-mission leadership for non-general-led larger missions would be a responsibility for subcommanders. 'Advisors' would then be for pre-mission prep and more focused on providing gear and such, no?


Also, syv, you shouldn't have told Baldman that! Mostly cause I'm curious if he could've broken his own mission-wrecking record time. Next he'll have to start bringing nukes and detonate them the moment they make planetfall to keep his crown.

Exactly. What I meant is with the leadership decided on the spot, pre-mission preparation of scale is pretty much out of question, so 'advisors' should be instituted to plug that gap.

So, can someone give me a second opinion on this?  The gun paints a dot, and then you and a chunk of what you're standing on is teleported to the aim point? Did I interpret that right?
