@Caellath: What kind skill is Pending?
On another note, Milno seems to have quite high Unconventional skill, yet his only unconventional weapons are Kinetic Amplifier and a club.

ehh, even without the prototype, a mk. III is still a ml. III.  As for how useful it could have been last mission, it rapid fires hypervelocity rounds at a pretty good clip, and I have incendiary shells designed for it. I think emptying a couple belts of burning death might have been useful in preventing the site from needing to be nuked...

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

@Tryrar, specifically your post in the ship thread about the Jackhammer's prototype.

Okay, I'm pretty sure us Heph people are the prototype evaluation guys now, right?  Well, my opinion isn't always consistent with the other Heph people, but I would never authorize a prototype for the jackhammer.  The burden of showing where it's useful is on you.  What past mission would have benefited from someone using a jackhammer?  Would someone in a synthflesh body or battlesuit have benefited the mission more?

I'm sorry, but I really don't want to get your hopes up.

Simus isn't reacting well to it either, I think - it's something no-one, ever, is going to use. It costs more than a LESHO (another thing nobody uses) and has fairly limited utility (most situations that come up, it's going to be extreme overkill).

I haven't looked at the thing, so I have no idea if this holds any ground, but if that thing isn't useful for us players, perhaps it could serve our sod forces? The ones fighting the brunt of the war in the background?

Imagine taking an A-10's rotary cannon (typically used against tanks) and using it against infantry. That's about what I gather the thing would be like. Would be useful against massed battlesuits, and even solo/potentially small groups of Avatars (if the user can stay alive long enough to use it), but not much else (everything else being extreme overkill).

So it could be used on gunships, but you'd probably be better off using specialised gauss cannons for it.

@Tryrar: You could try to shift the gun's category from "portable" to "avatar/vehicle-mounted" and test its effectiveness as such. Probably check how much an automatic gauss cannon like the Avatar's costs then try to make your design effective, keeping a good cost/benefit ratio to make it a better option than similar weapons.

I wouldn't use it on a gunship either.  Seriously, of you're trying to kill big heavy targets, use a LESHO instead.  With good automated systems, it'll be just as accurate at short range, and you'll be able to use it accurately at long range too.  Also, extremely powerful nuke rounds that can kill whole platoons.

The only advantage that a Jackhammer might have over a LESHO, is that it has more, cheaper rounds.  It might be able to accurately kill five infantrymen with single shots.  But if that's important, just use a PSL.  It's already a BS killer, and has phenominal cost per shot efficiency.

Kriellya:  I'm sure there's people out there who would outright buy your Mk III for near full cost, since it'd get them one cheaper and you a lot more than half price for resale.  I almost sold the one Lars had and I recall someone was interested (but not who was interested sadly.)

Thing is, I don't *want* to sell it. I want a Mk III, just in case we ever get a suited mission again, because it's a fantastic piece of equipment. But since I definitely can't use it on most missions (including the one coming up) I'd like for it to do *something*. Hence, renting it out, probably for *really* cheap. Like, 5 tokens per mission or less. Making the deal of 'you could have a MK II to keep, OR you could rent out this MK III for the mission.'

If it's for renting, it should probably be cheaper than five tokens since that can be more than someone gets in a single mission, and you're getting cash basically without any effort. Maybe two or three tokens, with a "you damage, you pay" condition.

Attention newbies.

I am repossessing my old mk II suit from an abandoned character as i am 90% certain they never finished paying me for it as we agreed.

It possesses my patented echolocational visual filter and mapping software as well as an ultrasound compatible speaker and a 360 degree thermal radar/visiual filter.

Anyone wanna buy it?

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Weren't you already wearing that? I'm pretty sure you used it this mission. Or do you have a second one?

What do you mean by "finished paying"? Did they pay part of the price, make a compromise for paying the rest later and then wound up not doing it?

Might wanna check with pw before trying to claim possessions from an inactive player. Especially if you're trying to sell it for personal tokens (you know, before everybody and his grandmother claims they have stuff "that one inactive dude totally got but never paid for"). Could you link to where you sold it and the agreement you made, for example? And who was it anyway?
