I would consider building the lab on another planet, however as Nik correctly points out, security is also an issue. If we build this thing on another celestial body, we'll have twice the number of celestial bodies to defend. The amp facility is going to be a problem as it is.

You could always build it somewhere deep down the core and try to hide it. And hey, as long as we have a way of preventing the UWM from getting their hands on our research data, we could consider just abandoning the thing if it comes under threat.

Yeah, just abandon the secret facility and trigger the self destruct if it's in danger of falling into enemy hands. We can rebuild it. Or do all research via autonomous drones and you don't even have to evacuate. Plus, it's much safer.

Besides, it's more than likely that with RC's space defences and with the fleet we will eventually acquire once we get our ship building going, it is more than likely we won't require planetary defences.

Looks like I was right about Feyri having a synthflesh body.

It's weird though. I remember people pooling tokens to buy her a Mk.III, but I don't remember her ever either paying the 20 tokens herself or people pooling again. She has 10 tokens now, so I'd be surprised if she bought it herself, and if people pooled then someone would probably remember. It's possible 1 person shelled out for it, but I don't know who would have that kind of money just lying around.

Dubley makes a note in his mk3's controls to distinguish between enhanced movement mode and exaggerated movement mode. Easy mistake to make. Good thing that didn't happen on mission.

It was the EMM - Enhanced Movement Mode, yes. Piecewise just swapped the names, since the Exaggerated Movements Mode was something created by an inmate - Nikitian, IIRC.

@Feyri and synth-flesh: As far as I remember, we bought her a MkIII but no one, not even Fey herself, bought a synth-flesh body for her. Unless a mysterious benefactor I'm unaware of did it. It might be piecewise mistaking one for the other or my mind playing pretty bad tricks on me.

Yeah, I think pw might be confusing people buying her a Mk.III and thinking it was full synthflesh.

That said, I have no problem with her having it, but I'm just curious.

I will also say that I don't remember Fey getting synthflesh as well.  And that's the type of thing I'd remember, especially the part where someone else bought it for her.  Synthflesh is expensive, you don't buy that lightly.

Also, unless it was specified, she wouldn't get a feminized body.  She'd look identical to Jim, except for the arms.  I'm now extremely tempted to use Jim's pic on Feyri's wiki page.

And Cael, I don't think Nik designed ExMM- the way I remember it, it's just the exoskeleton's special secret ability.  Basically everything has one.

...What would the fusion instigator's ability be, I wonder...

Except it indeed was actually designed by my character and originally shipped with my old design sub-exoskeletons; since then it must have migrated onto the standard exoskeleton software bundle somehow


Oh, and the fusion instigator's one is simple - deadman's switch. Can't exactly point the citation, but I'm sure it was mentioned by Piecewise years ago. Sadly nobody had one at the time, so the knowledge was lost to the time.
