We used the modified living sand, like the one the Sandbag uses, which was from the Abyss mission. Not the hex armour (which looks like stone btw). We haven't used anything from mission 9b. Although Miyamoto told Ares to start researching the hex armour when he can.

Oh, mission 13 is going to smash the guy's brains. I was hoping they would bring his head back so that the Doctor could "play" with him.

Even if im completely wrong about which laserproof material was used, we still had the one year timeskip progressing the research in the background.

Research should be done even if production is difficult.

It wasn't, though. With the R&D labs transferring I'm assuming they spent the year setting up and working high-tech magic for us developers (Simus and Anton's fusion warheads, for instance).

Of course the research materials being left behind on the Sword is silly, but it seems like exactly the kind of fuckup that'd happen with administration left in ARM personnel's hands. :P

Well, to be fair, they are, like, five people with an entire planet in their hands. You have to have realistic expectations of efficiency.

Yeah, imagine the following scene:
The Doctor is staring at Bala's head, which has been inserted in the Disembodied Head Revivification Machine.
The Doctor flips a switch. The machine activates. The moment Bala's eyes open, he immediately starts screaming.
The Doctor keeps staring for a few more seconds before turning the machine off. The screaming turns into a sigh and stops as the head becomes dead again.
The Doctor flips the switch again. The screaming continues. The fact that the head has no lungs and thus doesn't have to stop to breathe makes the screaming a monotonous thing that sounds like it could last forever.
The Doctor gets his datapad out and starts tapping its screen. "Hm. Possible application as alarm clock." he says to himself.

We should compiler a list of all the artefacts we have gathered that we haven't fully exploited or analysed, from that shapeshifting information storage object they gathered in Mission 1 to Nyartifacts like Mesk's nanohealers. That way, we know what we have and we could possibly get with some analysis.

Fusion warheads dont require the proffesional expertise of xenoarcheologists, xenophysicists and anti-mindfuck specialists. they require engineers and nuclear physicists and thats only if tinker and aresteve dont tweak everything for you.
The sword has/had a specialised group whose sole job is unlocking the secrets of alien can openers, their not gonna do any work for us inmates unless it cannot possibly be thrown at a less specialised crewmember.

We are stupid, Steve is not.

@Toaster: I did consider taking at least his head with us as one of my questions showed, but at the moment I'm considering it might be a risk not worth taking. Of course, taking the head means that any information we missed can probably be discovered in the ship, but Steve didn't seem too partial to that idea.

Oh, I just thought of something. When Toaster searched for where that info was stored, did that include other people? Because you were sent there to eliminate that info, so if he has told someone else, then you're going to have to kill them too.

Well, there is the problem that Steve probably already knows all that the target knows, and the only use for his head would probably be to get the full picture about his connections, acquaintances and sources of information, though only if Steve does not know that information already.

The AM could certainly do a more thorough sweep of that particular data source.

I'll change the order slightly, then. We'll probably have to use some medi-foam to cover the severed section and prevent it from bleeding all over the place when we try to take it, though.

As a replacement MkI suit what do you guys think a slightly elasticised suit made from a similar material to the civic defenders longcoat with an inbuilt but ampless spiked gauss piledriver+shotgun and a two part respirator that is capable of supplying air to your nose and mouth seperately just in case you get shot in the jaw?

With enough mass production the whole thing would probably be free, it would come with its own hybrid Con/Uncon weapon, provides enhanced but not overpowered protection and because the only parts being pressurized with air are the two halves of the respirator there is little chance of you ever suffocating even if you smash your helmet open somehow.
